2017 Offseason Thread 5.0 Summer Doldrums

From practice today, John Stevens...(whose son scored for the Islanders rookies vs he Flyer rookies a couple days ago) high praise for Kempe.

On whether Adrian Kempe’s speed is a dynamic the Kings are looking to add:
Well, we love his speed. There are not many guys that can carry speed like he does, but we like the fact that he’s shown the ability to be a 200-foot player, and that’s what we’re going to need from him. I mean, you can fly around the ice, but he’s got to be committed in all three zones, and he’s shown an ability to do that. He’s an intriguing guy. He’s had a great summer. No idea. Every time I see his name or Nolan on any line projections it makes me depressed. I would rather give the rookies a shot, even if they are more likely to mess up defensively.

I can tell you they are Vapors. The blade runner gives them away with the quick release button. Only bauer uses that style. The vapors are red which you can kind of see. Supreme is yellow and nexus is blue.

The Kings have used the Bauer holders on all brand of skate, even CCM, but I dont think I have ever seen Doughty in anything but Bauer.

Cammalleri has spent some time at center. Would be interested to see him and Kempe switch. Either way that is putting all fire power on one PP line. Which I am completely in favor of.

What should they do with him? They're not going to bury a contract in the minors with 3 years left on it. The only thing people say about Clifford is how much he sucks, so why would anyone expect any other team to trade for him?
 
Imama is the only "rookie" that could fill Clifford's role and he isn't ready.

Say what you want about him, but he's a guy that can fight at the NHL level and skate a shift while usually not hurting your team.

This team is soft enough as it is.

I must be the only one other than his mum that actually likes him on the team.
 
The problem with Clifford is his point totals can easily be replaced by anyone and besides energy he doesn't bring anything else to the table. He doesn't fight well , everytime he fights he gets beat up so he stopped doing that often. His energy can be provided by a rookie who can also probably replace his point totals. Andreoff can do what he does at a million less caphit.

Some people on these boards just have to ***** and moan about everything.

And I'm actually a fan of that projected line-up if thats what Stevens is going for.
