If we are giving everyone else a chance to see what they look like under a new coaching staff I guess we owe the same for Andy. Not pumped about this but I don't really care either for that price as he can be buried in Ontario or exposed to waivers if he doesn't work out. Maybe Sutter did have a leash on these guys, guess we will see

I mean, I'm not livid about it or anything but why not give the chance to somebody else? We already know what this trash can smells like, no need to take another whiff at it.

They will have another chance at training camp. If they can't beat Andreoff in training camp, do you really want to see that player on the roster?

By re-signing Andreoff, these are the three scenarios:
1) He gets an NHL spot
2) He loses an NHL spot, gets waived, gets claimed
3) He loses an NHL spot, gets waived, doesn't get claimed, and he is in the AHL.

I don't see the problem with a cheap benchwarmer at best.

cheap salary, easy waive if bad, two years to make him happy. It's whatever. No clue who Andreoff is, the spunky guy who showed some skill with the puck, or the turnover-prone facewasher.

If I'm the Kings, I'm looking to sign Iginla and Justin Williams. This is still kind of a learning/growing year for this team. What the team needs more than anything is good health.

Gaborik - Kopitar - Williams
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli
Brown - Dowd - Iginla
Clifford - Lewis - Andreoff

Forbort - Doughty
Muzzin - LaDue
Gravel - Martinez

No risk to the signing of Andreoff. He can be buried in the AHL if he makes it through waivers. Under $700k. Need to fill out the roster for the 13th/14th forward.

If AHL players can't beat out Andy for a roster spot, they don't deserve to be in the NHL.

Andy stats wise and play related, was the Kings worst player last season.

What about Kempe and Brodzinski?

I'd rather roll with Iginla/Williams than Thornton. If there's any Cap left, let it roll over. Solid lines if Gabby stays healthy and Williams is willing to come back for another cup of coffee.

Iggy showed he is a beast, still, once he arrived here. Passionate, too. He's built like a brick **** house. He'd be awesome on the third line. He also doesn't **** around and can whoop some arse. Dude is stronger than kids in their 20s.

I figured Andreoff would be making peanuts if he were to be re-signed, and thankfully he is. Luckily for the Kings, he didn't get a John Zeiler like contract. One of Dean's oddest decisions during his time here.

Now to re-sign Gravel, Brodzinski, LaDue and Shore to team friendly deals. None of them have really proven themselves yet, so I don't anticipate them to be receiving significant bumps in their AAVs.

Is it possible Blake would make an offer to Shattenkirk?

I doubt it.

Shattenkirk will simply cost too much for what he brings to the ice. Just like most big name UFA.

UFA are too Expensive, it's why drafting is really important.

What about Kempe and Brodzinski?

Brodz on the fourth, replacing AA, if Kemp beats out Dowd, 3C. Knock Dowd to 4c with Lewis and Brodz?

Trade Shore? Clifford is still left out, tho. We need him, especially if AA isn't on any of the lines. But Iggy would help with the physicality.

Especially given he allegedly wants to stay east.

Shattenkirk is a nice piece, but he's gonna get waaaayyy overpaid.

He's basically Voynov, little more offensive less/defensive, and likely to get paid 150%.

Nearly forgot about that one  dear lord.

Wonder what John Zeiler is doing right now. Gonna look it up. Edit: played a few years in DEL, and last played in 2015 in DEL-2. Jeez.

I think there will be some healthy competition at camp and those team-friendly deals are exactly what we need.

I still expect it to be a quiet summer for the Kings. So far so good. Probably grab a back up goalie and a vet guy, but that's not very noisy.

Rocky, how the hell have you been, pardner!? :)

His new contract is peanuts, but AA's fate was settled with me when he decided to face wash Tkachuk into submission rather than drop the gloves.

If there was ever a time to stand up for one of the league's best defenseman, it was then.
