Rebuilding is taking on younger guys with hoping they perform equal or better your current state in the near future. Retool is changing your guys for similar aged guys and still going for it in the moment. Up until last off-season, all we did was Retool.

Didn't they say the Brassard for Zbad trade was a retool move, which was trading for a younger player?

I see this as well. he can chip in 40pts, is a monster at faceoffs, and can provided the defensive shut down role vacated by stepan. it will either be him or bonino( Probably cost too much) or Holden traded for a younger cheaper version EX Girgensons type player

Rebuild and on the fly are almost counter of each other.

Rebuilds done right will take at least a couples years.

it will be a rebuild, its the first stage of it imo. both draft picks we took will be nhlers imo Chytil more impactful then Anderrson but neither are top talent. The team will miss the playoffs next year and should move nash at the deadline for a 2018 first. Id be open to any hockey trade and getting younger at this point. We still have a RHD hole.

Both picks were stretches though i feel they could of traded down on both and added a second to both of them thats the let down.
