He will play the same style, but much more offensive skill than Fast and is a faster and more fluid skater. And much better at carrying the puck and finding open men. Also better in front of the net. Fast is nice, but he is a really good 4th liner that can play 3rd line a handful of games per year.
 
All kidding aside people should stop looking at the stats for a moment and look at the kid play. I think he has size and vision. If his skating is any good he could be a legit player.

You guys wanted draft picks. You wanted to tank for top 10 picks. Gorton got you a top 10 pick. Give the kid a chance.

Ok besides Jessiman if you want to count that, when's the last time the Rangers took a high-risk, high-reward forward in the first round?

I'm not going to agree with you at all and frankly you're not making any compelling points. They didn't gut the team. What are you talking about? They moved a center and their backup goalie. How is that gutting the team?

They replaced the 1C with a 3rd pair PMD who has the potential to be a very good top pair or second pair PMD. They also now have a 3rd/4th line C with potential for the top 6.

They also have a **** ton of cap space which you seem to always easily forget.

If the Rangers make the right moves in FA they could easily have a better roster than last year.

I'm not into patch work and they currently have a skeleton crew..

Stepan - Gone - Who takes his minutes?
Girardi - Gone - Who takes his minutes?
Smith -UFA - If he doesn't sign. Who takes his minutes?
Lindberg - Gone - Who takes his minutes?
Raanta - Gone - Who takes his minutes?
