So when's the draft lottery and the draft? And the expansion draft? Gotta look forward to something...I'm still holding out hope for Liljegren.

Thanks Zig. Can't wait for the **** show the released lists are going to bring.

With regards to players being upset? I don't see the big deal over this. Its been done in previous expansion drafts.

Guys need to grow a pair if they are mad, it's a business, deal with it.

Less so the players. I can't wait to see fans freaking out.

Honestly, I don't mind Brown. He's still a player, just overpaid. Solid 3rd liner. Gaborik is garbage if he's not scoring.

Same. Brown had a solid bounce back year this year, 4 points shy of 40 on the worst scoring team in the league. Who knows how many more goals he's helped by having a good front net presence as well.

I wasn't able to watch many games this season, mostly watched highlights. Rasmussen reminds me of Brian Boyle.

Someone who I could see being selected in the Dave Taylor era, who always had an infatuation with big centers like Boyle and Steckel.

Yeah. Not slow, but moves his feet slowly. Has size. Shot repertoire consists of wrist shots.

Tippett I am on board with, but I doubt he falls to 10.

The best thing to come out of today's news is the Kings will now be way more likely to draft a goal-scoring winger than they would have been with Dean in charge.

We desperately need finishers at the NHL level and in the system.

The list is pretty obvious though unless Blake tries to make a trade splash before the expansion draft.

Doughty, Muzzin, Martinez, Forbort
Kopitar, Carter, Pearson, Toffoli
Quick

Agreed. Pretty weak, in terms of finishers in the system.
Brodzinski and Spencer Watson. Watson is pretty small. Having a good playoffs
with 5 goals and 6 assists, outscoring teammate Owen Tippett, who has 2 goals
and 6 assists.

I expect Brodzinski to get a good shot for a spot. Austin Wagner can fly and is having a good playoff with Regina. 6 goals in 7 games. Eyssimont has a lot of offensive skill and was leading scorer at St Cloud this season. In any event, Eyssimont, Wagner and Watson are all at least 2 years away.

2 players in this draft that could be available at 10, that ooze speed, skill and goal scoring capability are Necas and Tolvanen. The pick has got to be BFA. Best Forward Available.

Since it would appear that there's a good chance that Jack Campbell will be Quick's
backup...and Zatkoff will be long gone, (as well as Bishop) the Kings will a goalie in Ontario. Maybe they will sign one?

But they need to draft a goalie this draft. I would think if Oettinger is available at #41
(or whatever that pick # is) I would take him. Other notable goalies are Dipietro, Luukonen, Ian SCott and Petruzelli. Oettinger may go in the first though.

I trust Slob Flake to make THE WORST possible draft day decisions. Watch. He'll screw up the expansion draft protection list....... BIG TIME!!! Flake's an incompetent tuna head.

For the Kings, it's pretty obvious, barring a trade of a defenseman.

Kopitar, Carter, Toffoli and Pearson
Doughty, Muzzin, Martinez and Forbort
Quick

Zatkoff has another year so I assume he'll be in Ontario for the year with some younger FA pickup or some overager goalie late round pick.

The biggest question before the draft is whether we should package Gaborik with our 1st to get rid of his cap. Not saying its possible, but if there is such a deal, do you make it?

No, this draft may not be great, but it's good enough that a good talent can be had at #10 or #11 (~83% chance they land in either spot) and they are starved for good young talent.

Twice in the NBA draft lottery the 9th place team has won. And they have much worse odds that far down. I'm looking for the top pick.
