If Kostin is your guy, nothing wrong with taking him there. Scares me though. Comtois is great value. DiPietro in third I would be good with too. I've definitely seen much worse, those are three good picks when we're talking about restocking forwards and goalies in particular.

Exactly. Kostin is tough to get a good read on. If we took him at #11 I'd imagine they did their homework and be ok with it. Hell I prefer him to Suzuki who our subforum seems to have a crazy affirmation towards. If we can get Comtois in the 2nd and DiPietro in the 3rd I'd be ecstatic. That would be 1 ok potentially good pick and two amazing picks.

Suzuki is still 17, and he had a pretty good season. What's wrong with him?

Rounding out the awards for the Attack on Saturday was Nick Suzuki, who took home the BRP Sportsman of the Year Award as the CHL’s most sportsmanlike player in 2016-17.

The draft eligible forward was named the OHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Player this past season after a breakout year that saw him record 45 goals and 51 assists for 96 points in 65 games of action.

Rated as the #10 North American prospect ahead of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Suzuki’s 10 penalty minutes was the fewest by a player in the OHL’s top 10 point scorers this year, and was also the highest scoring draft eligible forward in the OHL.

Suzuki was also recognized in the annual Western Conference Coaches Poll where he was voted second in the Best Stickhandler category, and was the Attack’s representative on the OHL’s Scholastic Team and finalist for Scholastic Player of the Year.

Don't know what the future beholds for him, but given his smarts and skills, I think he can work his way as an every day NHLer.

Starting to wonder if LA would take Vesalainen.

So many close options this draft. Really hard to predict what LA will do.

The Kings should use the first 2 draft picks on the best snipers on the board, and hopefully they have speed also.

I picked these 3 with the draft simulator:

A big reason why I picked Petruzelli was his size, 6'6".

Bernier is the only one I can think of.

Jones was a free agent.

Chris Gibson was second round right?

The only first rounders I can think of over the years are:

DiPietro
Fleury
Price
Bernier
Samsonov
Rask
Campbell
Schneider
Vasilesky
Varlamov
Dubnyk
Montoya

I'm sure there are more just can't remember.

I still don't think a first rounder is worth spending on a goalie.

I'm ok with a second on a top goalie prospect but I understand the trepidation there too.

Aside from those three goalies I mentioned earlier, I don't really have much of an opinion on others.

Tom Barrasso
Grant Fuhr
Martin Brodeur
Olaf Kolzig
Dan Cloutier. :D

I'd be over the moon with Cody Glass at #11. 1B/2A Center potential. Should go top five.

Given this, I wouldn't mind seeing the Kings trade down to a lower pick in the 1st round and pick up another 2nd round pick, if they can find a trading partner.

They may not be able to find one if other teams are seeing the draft in the same light.

If they can trade down, I wouldn't mind seeing them select Foote. Big defenseman with mobility and a decent shot from the point.

Over Ryan Poehling???

If they trade down, I like Foote as well.

A defense man:help: when we need skill forwards who can score in our top 6 desperately Only defense man i would take in first round is Timothy Liljegren even than it would be a hard decision

BPA. Do not draft on need. I wouldn't pick Foote at 11 but if we trade down to the 20's? Sure. I'd pick Liljegren at 11 no problem.

I don't see foote at 20 better then Ryan Poehling or a few others . Despite your bpa concept its unrealistic when the kings best prospects are already defense man. Lets also acknowledge the majority of our d already is under 25 Needs to be a spot for said draft pick in 2 years I don't see one on defense in 2 years Lets not forget clague will be ready by then. Our forward are getting old and ready to take a lesser role We need replacement top 6 players asap
