Speaking of that... Bob is tweeting out his top 10 (WJC draft eligible prospects) here:

Hm, scouts sleeping on Petterson a bit

Very thin frame and not a good skater... NHL teams get real gunshy about that combo. The 3-7 players all fall in the 10-25 sort of range this year, so I'm not sure it would really be sleeping. At this stage, you could probably flip those 5 without causing a batted eye.

Long-term, Oettinger might be the 2nd or 3rd best player out of that group. He looks like a really good goalie prospect to me, but in today's NHL that is a late 1st to late 2nd sort of pick (I'd welcome that pick in the 2nd somewhere).

Big news! Vehviläinen blows.

E: In with the goalie whose first name has been given to 66 people in Finland since 1940.

If they lose to Denmark, they might be in the relegation round... I don't see Finland beating the Czechs or Swedes. Yeesh.

They already lost to the Czechs.

They've got Switzerland and the Swedes left to play. But I agree, definitely cant see them getting through the Swedes, and the Swiss are a sleeper team this year as well who's certainly capable of beating Finland.

I missed most of the first day.

Hey have a chance against the Swiss, but I wouldn't call it likely.

Tolvanen isn't a create solely on his own sort of player. Finland needs to pair him up with a feeder.

Even if Finland can get a Win against the Swiss they're not out of the woods. Switzerland beat the Czechs today, so they're 1-0. Denmark is 1-0 after todays win.

Even if Finland beats the Swiss, if the Swiss beat Denmark I believe Finland would be in last place still.

All of this of course assuming Sweden sweeps the division which at this point they most likely will.

The Swiss will probably beat Denmark though. Which would give them 5 points.

Denmark and Finland are likely the bottom 2 in that division, and Denmark already has 3 points and a win over Finland.

So, unless the Swiss lose to Denmark, I think Finland will be the last place team in that group.
