Had no idea Jost was this dynamic with the puck. Beyond impressed with this kid so far.

That part of his game has always been underrated. People go overboard with the Towes comparisons, and his skill set gets lost. IMO he is a completely different type of player.

I'm seeing a left handed Claude Giroux out there.

Drury,Parise, Giroux, and Toews.

This is why comparisons are pointless.

I don't really see Jost having that gritty/nasty side ala giroux.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do see where you are coming from. Jost will be a good NHL player.

Meh I don't think Giroux looked as good as Jost at the WJC's. With the puck I see many similarities but Jost is better away from it. Obviously Giroux right now is. Hell of a lot better than he was in junior but that's the first person I think of when I see Jost with the puck. And Giroux was a year older than Jost is.

I rememeber Giroux from the Q. He was one of the best players I've seen in that league (past 15ish years). Crosby is the only one I can really think of being clearly better at that time. Giroux was just incredibly immature on and off the ice.

I wouldn't take too much from this Canada and Slovakia game, the Slovaks cannot even make a single pass to save their lives. Though with that said, that was a sick play by Jost to survey the scene and then give it for the one-timer opportunity. I told you guys that his stickhandling is ridiculously good.

I love the Suisse team, not too many teams give the announcer the potential to say "The Czech forward Musil pushed Siegenthaler into his netminder van Pottelberghe". There was another play in that game which in the Winnipeg Jets announcer described the play as, "Suisse defenceman Gerber launches the puck to Eggenberger, Eggenberger throws it around the boards to the awaiting Weber".

I was quite impressed by Gross besides Hischier, for a 16 year old and to play a game with that much confidence and puck moving ability was great. I also like what I saw from Eggenberger, he seems like he will be a force on the forecheck. The player who stole the show though was Hischier, he no doubt has gotten himself into the top 4-5. He is just a slick player, which Button even mentions able to navigate into the small areas of the ice. I also liked what I saw in him going to the front taking abuse and trying to get a tip on.

I mentioned the other day of not liking any 2nd round selections, but Rondbjerg might be one to look at. Looked really good against Finland, which brings me to Finland. I'll give them a pass because it seems that the offensive problems is coming from the coach, but really liking Vaakanainen. Yeah people say he was at fault for Denmark's third goal, but I think it was more of his partner's fault for pitching in leaving his own man open. Heiskanen on the other hand is a player who is smooth and some tools, but seems a bit too raw for my liking. Valimaki is definitely the best of the bunch for me.

I used to watch the Q regurlarly back then too. Crosby obviously is the best. Radulov and Mackinnon were more dominant than G. Maybe Esposito too. I agree he's one of the better ones though.

I never expected Giroux's game to grow the way it has. I expected him to be one of those traditional undersized players who dominate the Q but fail to compete against men but that definitely wasn't the cse.

Probably looking forward more to seeing Hischier than the Swedish players. I just get a feeling Elias Pettersson isn't a player Avs would draft.

I like Carl Grundström. Good pick by Leafs.

I could get the argument for Radulov (his second season was incredible, rookie was 'just' very good). The others I don't. Giroux scored over 100 points 3 straight seasons including his rookie season. His Q career is up there with the best since the turn of the century.

Hischier is impressive again. I think he will be very close to overtaking Patrick in the rankings next month.

Had him pegged for #1 overall before this tournament and will have him at #1 afterwards. That kid is good.

Patrick has plenty of time to regain it though. The good old canadian boy who is strong and plays a great two-way game will ultimately always go over the smaller suisse guy if it is close.

Especially when the Avs are picking #1 (which they probably won't but still).

And my love affair with Rasmus Dahlin keeps on growing.

The skating and confidence he displays at the age of 16 is astonishing.

I would take him #1 overall in 2017 without even thinking about it.

Keller has been one of the most impressive players I've seen in this tournament so far. Damn he's good.
