This PP is basically, can Barzal make a play. The coaching staff is really committed to trying to make Strome a key feature aren't they?
Yes and it might be their downfall.

It seem ridiculous that Jost is getting no Pp time. They definitely need more puck poise and Jost seem so on have that in spades.
That's on Juulsen, you can't turn at the last second like that
They absolutely are inept. Butcher and Wood aren't an example of anything first of all, they have not proven themselves enough. Bigras and Meloche look solid, but they were from same draft, and might even have been due to the guy who's no longer here. Barrie is a good offensive defenseman but is proving to be not as special as some thought.
That is just not enough over a10-15 year period. Their record of finding good defenseman is absolutely pathetic compared to other organizations.
I'm not directing this toward you, but this "how do we know they didn't try" idea is an excuse I've seen here for the same blueline problem for 15 years. There is too much proof of them not getting it done to give them the benefit of the doubt.
So many players do that now. Then the hitter gets penalized every time. It's ridiculous. They're trying to prevent injuries by softening up the game, but making all these young players feel safe from getting hit is gonna result in a lot of injuries that never would have happened. They've never really learned to protect themselves.
I mean they basically try to give the full 2 minutes to that first unit. When it's not on Barzal's stick it's a giveaway
This is absolutely true and is driving me nuts these days. This, and the drafting age being 18 contribute to a lot of injuries these days I think.
Speaking of, I like that there is at least some rumor of a movement to change the drafting age.
I haven't seen Jost taking draws either, unless I'm just missing it? Isn't he supposed to be money in the dot as well?

I wonder how they'd make that work, you'd essentially have to delay a whole draft year.
He's playing LW. I'm liking it gives him practice.
I don't think I ever remember seeing as much hype for an Avs pick from outside sources. Not even Rantanen's outstanding season last year comes close.
Personally unless we draft a big two-way center this year at the top, I think he is a C for us with Landeskog on his wing.
I'm still not one who completely believes we'll be drafting top two for some reason. It's just such a crap shoot with the lottery, even if we are dead last.
It's quite something for me to watch. Normally Avs prospects are just passed over, and knowledge / discussion about the Avs in general is minimal and poor, but the hype machine for Jost appears to be in full swing.

Hart with the softies tonight
Overages maybe, and yeah they'd have to probably cut it to a couple of rounds for one year or something. They could also prepare for it a bit by banning signing draft eligible UFA's for a year or two, not sure how much that would help but if they wanted to even have a draft that year they'd need to get creative lol.
It was a while back I seen an article talking about a movement to do it too. Which also involved trying to work with all parties including the CHL vs AHL thing, and there not being as much resistance to it as you might first assume.
