I'm fine with Barkley in a trade-down. Would be utterly moronic to take him at 2 when there will be teams offering bounties for a QB if we aren't going that route.
Make a trade with NYJ for #6, snag Barkley?

Wonder if it's possible NYG ends up valuing two QBs equally, the Browns take neither, so they have more of an incentive to trade down. Say if Allen and Rosen don't go #1.

I just read that Drew Stanton played the entire season with a torn ACL.

That's hockey tough.

If the Giants are not taking a QB at 2, the Jets or Broncos are the ideal trading partner.

A trade back to seven should let us get two firsts, a second, and a third. Or two firsts, two thirds, and some other small bits.

Grab Nelson at seven. Rudolph with your first second round pick (or trade back up into the first for Jackson/Mayfield).

Safest play as it stands right now is probably to just grab Rosen at #2 if CLE doesn't take him at #1. If CLE takes him at #1, I could see them swapping with the Jets, and taking Lamar at 6. I really think Gettleman is going to value Lamar more than we do. Even though Gettleman inherited Cam, I'd imagine he has fond memories of having a dual-threat athlete behind center.

In Gettleman's first draft with the Panthers, he took:

DT, DT, G, LB, RB

Obviously the situations aren't really that comparable, but perhaps worth noting.

The big worry is, to me, that trading down out of a QB spot and picking up one later doesn't normally seem to work out well.
I think y’all are better off just taking Rosen if he’s there. Solidify your QB position for the future and then build outwards from there. Rosen, OBJ, Shep, and Engram terrifies me as an Eagles fan

I don't think that Cleveland is taking Rosen with the back and forth between them. I value Lamar quite a bit, but I would prefer to trade down for him. I wouldn't mind taking him at 7, but I think we can get him lower than that right now. All of this can change, though!

I mean, I'm a big time Rosen fan. So I'm all for him at 2.

Then what do you do if you're the Browns and you value Rosen as the #1 QB in the draft? Do you trade the 1OA? Do you take the "next best", whoever they value most out of Jackson, Darnold, Allen? Man. Tough call.

But, I think I've made up my mind. If the Browns don't take Rosen, the Giants should. If the Browns take Rosen, NYG should trade down to 6. Let the Jets draft their guy at 2. Giants add a ransom in the process and only move down 4 picks. Jackson, Allen, or Darnold (if he enters), will be there. If for some reason all these QBs are gone, take Barkley if the Browns don't, or trade down again.

to be honest none of these qbs scream cant miss

plus its the browns we are talking about, barkley is the best player in this draft

I'd say that Rosen, Allen, and Darnold are all top flight QB prospects. Neither Goff nor Wentz were "can't miss" prospects, either. There hasn't been a "can't miss" prospect since Winston and I'd argue that both Goff and Wentz are better.

Apparently the Browns covet Allen.
