Can mono keep you out that long?
sometimes it can take up to 2 months to fully recover.
but I'm not even sure if I heard correctly. listening with 1 ear while working.

That streak most likely ends on Boxing Day this year. Eventually all streaks must end.
Was listening to Hockey Central yesterday with 1 ear, but did I hear correctly, that Nolan Patrick is out with mono and probably won't be available for the tournament?
Just wondering, but are you sure they weren't talking about Liljegren? Just because it'd be pretty crazy if the top 2 prospects for 2017 draft are both out with mono. That streak most likely ends on Boxing Day this year. Eventually all streaks must end.

if you had just scrolled back a few posts you would have found my original post on the status of Patrick.

The question mark implies I wasn't sure if I heard it correctly or not. Was listening online while working.
it has since been answered. They were talking about the other player.
NJ cares more about Cormier at 23 than 18. Being a good goaltender in JR doesn't translate to being a good pro. After seeing Cormier live he has some issues to deal with before even being considered. I don't know what they did with him in New Jersey but its not working. The positives are he's quick. He's very good at moving around the crease either on his feet or knees. The problem is he lacks awareness of where he needs to play. Right now he's far too aggressive which leads to lots of goals against when playing a good team. Also he's about as smart as rock with the puck on his stick.

With no Marner it should look something like this
Dubois - Barzal - Konecy
McCleod - Strome - Kyrou
Crouse - Jost - Beaullivier
Wagner - Stephens - Roy
Gauthier
Chychrun - Chabot
Fabbro - Bean
Roy - Juulsen
Lauzon
Ingram
Cormier
I don't know if NJ is telling him to do that, they have a long term plan in developing him and him being on Team Canada is the least of their concerns. If New Jersey is encouraging him to be this aggressive he'll be destroyed in the NHL let alone AHL. Right now his aggressiveness works no where. Even Jonathan Quick had to dial it back because goalies can't move as fast as players can pass the puck. Get Cormier to dial back how far he challenges and we'd see a goalie worthy of contending for the WJC team. Right now though he's behind a wealth of other goalies.

I could see a team Canada without Beaullivier and Chychurun. But Konecy will make this roster.IMO this is still a very optimistic roster. Konecny, Beauvillier and Chycrhun have looked fantastic for their respective teams. As it stands right now I could see a team Canada with none of these three on the roster.
Thumbs up brothaGood for New Jersey. All I care about as a Canadian is getting the best goalies right now and Cormier isn't one of the best available goalies right now.

New Jersey sent Speers down after he played three games for them. He wasn't invited to summer camp, but Hockey Canada should give him a look.
