Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Konecy did nothing on our junior team last year. He'll make it this year just because he made it last year but he did absolutely nothing. Crouse also sucked. And this also coming from a Flyers fan boy.

it's the direction of the NHL, younger and younger all the time. I believe both players are better served back in junior, but that's life. Let's see how they keep up by December.
So who will we be missing? Who's all going to at least start in the NHL?
I'm pretty confident in the team no matter what, at least some people will be proven wrong that we can't win without so many good players
I'm laughing at the idea somebody would seriously think this team, even without it's 6-8 best players would have a problem to beat the top nations. I'm not saying that there would be as good of a chance to win the tourament, of course, but it's still Canada, come on, We could send a B team and the 3rd/4th line of that team would be still better than the majority of 3rd/4th lines in the tournament, I can imagine the US having a bettter bottom-six, but that's all. I think some people are overreacting when TC isn't playing up to their potential (ie winning gold) with a solid team (last year, or 2013, or 2012 for example), and then they think that we need the absolute best to be contenders for gold. That is absolutely laughable. We talk about a one-game elimination tournament where you have one or two bad periods and you are done. That isn't saying anything, if this year's canadian "B" team played best-of-five series with the top nations, I'm pretty confident that it would beat everyone, or it would at least be close. One game, however, see Finland last year. They could've won, but they didn't. This is not Olympic Team Canada, the difference here is not big, the likelyhood of TC losing one game in the playoffs with some of the top nations is different than with the olympic team. It can happen. And certainly not because the team isn't good enough.
So, my point is, whatever the team is in Montreal, it has a chance to win gold, simple as that. The talent will be there and it's a matter of properly playing it out.
Team Canada, in my sincere opinion, is gettin ridiculously underrated at the World Juniors and World Championships, when its team is "just good", and not "super-great and far better than anything else", when in reality, even an "just ok" TC is still on par with the other nations, and realistically even the favorite, whether it's the World Juniors, or World Campioships.

Given his ice-time and usage, he did basically all he could. He was very good. How come that you are wrong almost on everything?
He's going to play in the NHL so no, he's not going to be on this team most likely.
Hextall is very patient with young players. Konecny and Provorov showed that they are too good to be send down. Konecny was alongside Voracek best forward on the team. We need that speed & skill on the Flyers.

That's disappointing unless he has a very strong year with Philadelphia. Konecny would obviously have been one of the leaders on this team. Interesting to see what happens if he doesn't play so well to start the year.

I don't really put too much stock into what players show at camp at 19 years old. I can give you a list 100 pages long of players that thrilled at camp at 18 and 19 years of age, but never really amounted to much.
it's a tired old argument anyway. I don't care anymore.
Gets a lil thinner with out the NHL players but not horrible.

Seems alright in the case top players are not available, but Myers should be on this roster instead of Foote, as talented as Foote is, Myers is better at this point.

Personally I would replace Knott with Speers. I think at least one of Barzal/Beauvillier (maybe both) will be available. Not sure about Crouse. Dubois I think will be also available. Chychrun will get a few games in the NHL and then he will be back in juniors. + You forgot Bean. He will be there for sure.

not really a surprise. What is the status of Dubois and Gauthier? haven't really been following camps at all. busy moving.

Gauthier was previously sent back to junior. Dubois is still with Columbus, I believe.
Barzal and Beauvillier are both still with NYI. Marner is with the Leafs.

so it could possibly be a 1st. line of Jost Patrick Gauthier on Boxing Day. Not winning much with that if that's how she plays out.
I kept Speers and Chychrun, Beauvillier Dubois etc out for the worst case scenario without NHL players. They would definitely be there otherwise. Myers slipped my mind,he should be there too. If team needs scoring, Mascherin is one of the best scoring prospects out there I think he has a solid shot to be on the team in a top 6 role. I wouldn't have Bean on my team , I think he is a little overrated, maybe next year.

I don't think Foote is eligible to even play for Canada yet. Also, the team without any NHLers (I think there are 12 Canadian junior aged players still in the NHL) looks pretty sad for now. Some players will likely emerge though.

Good Heavens!!!! 12? I count only 9! I list in order of importance. At least if it were me picking the roster. I just love taking shots at Strome.

well, that's a punch to the kidneys. Good for Chabot though. I'll be watching him tonight. Hope he does well and is available come Dec. I have him penciled in as #1LD at Christmas.

Chabot, Speers and Guhle (I think). I like Speers and hope that he is available and that Canada takes a long look at him. Some of these players will be available of course. The main hope is that Canada can get a top centre like Barzal.
