Why are you thinking of the Sens? We're not passing them. TOR and NYI are the only teams that matter to us at this point.

Yea, people keep saying the Sens games are the most important for the Bruins when in reality the NYI and Toronto are much more important.

I don't care with NYI.
As long as Tor, TB, Flo, Det or Buf don't pass the Bruins, they stay in the top-3 in the division and that's all that matters. Not what NYI is doing...

And they play the Habs 3 times in 8 days in mid-March. One of the two will lose so catching Ott and/or Habs is mmuch doable.
Look ahead, win home ice and then send a 4th to Winnipeg after round 1.

What if...
Not getting a top-3 spot in the division and starting against Wsh in round 1 would mean a quick exit. Wouldn't be much better than missing outright.
Let's stay ahead of the not so good pretenders (Tor, TB, Flo) and ECF is doable. That's what matters. Not what NYI is doing...

I love how you quote "what if" as if this whole thread isn't about what ifs.
This thread is about the Bruins making the playoffs. Not about how they'll do in the playoffs.
That being said, NYI could be very important for the Bruins.

Since they last faced, Toronto has played 16 games and won 6. Boston has played 13 and won 10.

The way teams are winning right now, anyone could take a few game skid and be completely out. Crazy..
A 10-4 record the rest of the way gets our Bruins up to 98 points.
Next week, we face Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. Calgary is the hottest team in the league right now with a 9 game win streak. Edmonton will be a tough game too. 4 out of 6 next week is acceptable and to be expected.
The following week will make or break this playoff push. We face Toronto, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, and the Islanders. We have to win at least 3 of those games.

Leafs don't exactly have a cakewalk in their next 3 games . They play Florida , Tampa and Chicago . Let's hope the 3rd time is the charm and the Bruins win in their next game against the Leafs .
