The Bruins looking after their own interests....now if the Avs and Canes could win tonight, that would be great.

Why are you thinking of the Sens? We're not passing them. TOR and NYI are the only teams that matter to us at this point.

Still lots of games to go yet.

Yea, people keep saying the Sens games are the most important for the Bruins when in reality the NYI and Toronto are much more important.

I don't care with NYI.

As long as Tor, TB, Flo, Det or Buf don't pass the Bruins, they stay in the top-3 in the division and that's all that matters. Not what NYI is doing...

But what if Toronto does pass the Bruins? Wouldn't we care how many points NYI has?

What if...

Not getting a top-3 spot in the division and starting against Wsh in round 1 would mean a quick exit. Wouldn't be much better than missing outright.

Let's stay ahead of the not so good pretenders (Tor, TB, Flo) and ECF is doable. That's what matters. Not what NYI is doing...

I love how you quote "what if" as if this whole thread isn't about what ifs.

This thread is about the Bruins making the playoffs. Not about how they'll do in the playoffs.

That being said, NYI could be very important for the Bruins.

Could. But hopefully, this is meaningless and Bruins stay ahead of the pretenders and even pass Ott/Mtl or both.

10-3-0 since Cassidy is here.

Let's keep on winning and finish strong! That way, what NYI will do stay meaningless...

What is Boston's record against the not so good pretender Toronto again?

I can't argue there.

Similar to the Penguins' record to the not-so good pretender Boston last year?

Since they last faced, Toronto has played 16 games and won 6. Boston has played 13 and won 10.

Leafs were dominated (at least possession-wise) by the Canes, but won it in OT. But at least the Islanders are losing, and the Lightning took a late lead to hopefully prevent a 3-point game.

Right now looks like a OTT win, TOR win, TBL win, Fla loss, and hopefully NYI loss.

The way teams are winning right now, anyone could take a few game skid and be completely out. Crazy..

A 10-4 record the rest of the way gets our Bruins up to 98 points.

Next week, we face Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. Calgary is the hottest team in the league right now with a 9 game win streak. Edmonton will be a tough game too. 4 out of 6 next week is acceptable and to be expected.

The following week will make or break this playoff push. We face Toronto, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, and the Islanders. We have to win at least 3 of those games.

Certainly not the best time for a western road swing, particularly again Flames and oilers back to back.

Ouch.

Win them and I will be much more impressed.

Leafs don't exactly have a cakewalk in their next 3 games . They play Florida , Tampa and Chicago . Let's hope the 3rd time is the charm and the Bruins win in their next game against the Leafs .
