On this day last year, the Bruins were tied for first.

And they ended up missing the playoffs because of the tie=breaker. They had the same number of pts than Detroit (93pts) who got in. This year the Bruins do have the tie-breaker against every team in the race.

Year before, they also missed with 96pts with a bad last week.

Year before, they lost to a bad Habs team up 3-2 after a total dominating regular season.

Year before ended in dramatic fashion in game #6 in Cup Fanal.

Year before ended in a 7 games loss to Wsh with the Holtby coming out party.

Year before was the Cup year.

Quite the bad endings since then.*Maybe we have some good thing happening this year? Road is wide open to a ECF against Wsh or the team that beats them (again...) this year.

Go B's!

If the Bruins end the season 10-6-0, they would stay in the top-3 in the Atlantic unless one of these teams get:

Toronto 11-5-1 or better
TB and Flo 13-4-0 or better
Buffalo 14-0-1 or better

Driver seat.

I don't have the schedule in front of me, but 10-6-0 is still better than average. Not impossible, and certainly attainable. I'd expect 9-7-0 is a more likely outcome....or even 8-7-1.

Still, even taking the Bruins down 2-3 points doesn't give trailing teams a whole lot of leeway. Means Toronto has to go 10-7-0 or 9-6-2, which is possible...but again not probable.

Too close to Toronto, they're the biggest threat

I'm going to disagree with Milbury and Jones there a bit; Linseman was quite a dynamic player. Brad is offensively better, but Linseman's skating made him a very good defensive checker and he had quite goods hands and was very clever.

Speaking of our new bench boss, where is his thread?
I can't recall seeing a whole page with nothing pertaining to the coach in at least 12 yrs!
Did anyone notice the stat that the Bruins have 3 - 6 goal games under Butch in 12 games and the same under Clode in 55 games.

Leafs play the Flyers tomorrow night and Philadelphia is only two points back of the Leafs so they should be playing hard . Go Flyers !

According to the Toronto sports gurus, Philly is counted as an easy game for the Leafs - they actually discussed how the 3 games (Detroit, Philly, Canes) were against teams that were out of the race. Unbelievable!

Funny, as I was driving in this morning the same experts were talking about the game tonight and said "it didn't even occur to me that Philadelphia was that close".

Winning will solve everything. All in their control at this point. All three atlantic front runners are 7 and 3 in their past 10 which is the best in the division. That's how you put space between you and the chase pack down the stretch.

Still not a given that we'll make it. Boston's schedule the rest of the way doesn't look that easy, nor does Toronto's schedule look all that hard. Our game against the Leafs on the 20th may be huge.
