World Cup: 2016 World Cup — Team USA

Well...I would have taken Faulk over EJ without much hesitation, I easily would have taken a boatload of players over Jack Johnson. How did JJ make the team??

Let's not overreact here......This is still a very solid team but to exclude so many skill players is odd. To me, this is Tortorella having a ton of influence and USA Hockey capitulating. Classic overthinking the event/venue.
 
Those picks are terrible, but don't blame it all on USA Hockey. Some of those guys are Torts players. Johnson, Callahan, Dubinsky. This guy is a bad NHL head coach, why should he be picking our roster for the World Cup? I can understand some players being left off, but not having Kessel, Johnson and Faulk are just bad decisions.

This team could get to the Semi-Finals, but I don't think we are even second favorites anymore.

Is there a reason this country doesn't know who our top defenseman are?? First the Sochi games and now this...
 
USA hockey has always treated jack johnson like the golden boy, i thought they moved past it when they left him off the sochi roster

how many players are on this roster that torts has history with? if there ever was a torts team this is it...low on offensive talent, but omg all the shot blockers!

Brad Marchand is fine on team Canada, he's a good fit, especially coming off the season he has had.

Jake Muzzin is a bit of an odd one, I agree.

It's still hilarious.
 
Seems like Team USA didn't learn from what happened in Sochi. It also seems like Torts had way too much influence on the roster.
 
This is just bad for the entire tournament. Such an excellent NTDP and then this...

Some of you are overreacting though, this team could still beat any team on a good day.

Why would Perry or Hall make it over Muzzin anyway, it's not like they're defenders.



Edit: I'm not saying Muzzin was the ideal choice

I can buy one or two declining invitation, but there's a solid 7 roster changes that could easily be made here (Faulk, Shattenkirk, Kessel, Okposo, etc.) and there's no way they all said no....we just don't know how to pick a ****ing team
