Rakell-Bäckström-Forsberg

Could be a very annoying line for the other teams.

Landeskog-Wennberg-Steen

Eriksson-Sedin-Sedin

Hagelin-Zetterberg-Silfverberg (shut-down line)

Too bad we have so many players practically equally good.

Would rather trade ten of them for a real game breaker, like Sudden or Foppa.

wennberg has not looked good in wch. he is not a man for this roster. but he is young so he might have a chance in the future.

He was excellent the other day, by far his best game in the tournament. But yes I agree that shouldn't be on the World Cup roster for 2016.

Who are going to be the next "forsbergs and sundins"? Sweden have amazing young defenders and that core is definitely set up for years to come, but I dont see any future superstar forwards. Dont get me wrong because nylander, landeskog, zibanejad etc are all great young forwards, but they are not "foppas and sundins" though.

Some punk will have a good game. Elderly might join. Laine will be taken care of by Mr. Hedman (badonk, ouch!)

Filip Forsberg - Nicklas Bäckström - Gustav Nyquist

Gabriel Landeskog - William Nylander - Alexander Nylander

Rickard Rakell - Victor Rask - Elias Lindholm

Carl Hagelin - Mikael Backlund - Jakob Silfverberg

André Burakovsky - Alexander Wennberg - Marcus Johansson

Mattias Janmark - Mika Zibanejad - Anton Rödin

Jacob de la Rose - Oscar Sundqvist - Jesper Fast

Lias Andersson - Joel Eriksson Ek - Viktor Arvidsson

Oliver Ekman Larsson - Erik Karlsson

Victor Hedman - John Klingberg

Hampus Lindholm - Jonas Brodin

Mattias Ekholm - Adam Larsson

Oscar Klefbom - Gustav Forsling

Robert Hägg - Patrik Nemeth

Jacob Larsson - Timothy Liljegren

Jacob Markström / Filip Gustavsson

Robin Lehner / Linus Ullmark

Anton Forsberg / Oscar Dansk

Its not about size. We have better options than Wennberg.

Zibanejad, Backlund, Berglund, Söderberg...

2018 olympics is the time for Wennberg.

Berglund is not a better option. Zibby backlund and söderberg on the other hand. Picking Berglund would be an insult to good hockey and manners he declines just as many wc invitations as Söderberg and Bäckström the only difference is that he is not good at hockey

backlund MUST be the 4C.

He accept WC invite, he has good defence and offence skills and he is physical.

Nyquist is making a good cause aswell....very skilled and quite feisty.

Just wondering how Adam Larsson has looked?

he doesn't get much offensive zone starts or any PP time in Jersey, curious to see how he's playing in an expanded role

I mean he does have talent after all he was drafted 4th overall for a reason and that was the two-way aspect of his game. So he looks quite OK in a more offensive role. Considering how little practice he has gotten on the PP or joining the rush in NJ it looks very natural. Although this is the world cup of hockey thread not the whc thread, and if he makes this team it will be because of physicality hustle and the need for a defensive-minded right handed D, because obviously Sweden has ****-tons of skilled puck movers.

Well he was a offensive d-men when he played in sweden, so it is hardly anything new for him. Just look at his stats from sweden, very impressing stats for a undrafted player, espcially the stats from one year before his draft, best ever to my knowledge.

But yes in a world cup team he would have a very defensive role.

Hagelin 11p in 14 games from a 3th line with almost no PP time. Probably the most positive surprise in the playoff. I start to think he could be use higher up than just the 4th line.

Strålman do not seem to have a positive impact on tamba so far during the playoff.

Oh hell no he his hands are made of cement. Actually I'm not even sure I want him on the team because I think every player on a team like this should be above average skillwise.

He's fast and gritty but there's a serious lack of skill which is the one thing that I value higher than anything else on a best on best team.
Hagelin is a great role player. You don't need four lines of top scorers against a top opponent, you need diversity. Hagelin is one of the fastest skaters in the league, defensively responsible, is a terrific PK'er, is a monster on the boards and can complement any line with his speed alone to change the dynamic of attacking the zones (and beat the trap)... so who cares he isn't a great skill player? Every line needs a grinder and if that grinder is a Ferrari, I'm fine with it. Scorers need ice time, Hagelin is fine with lower minutes and if a top line is struggling, throw him in there and let him gain territory.

NYR was crap this season to a significant deal as of losing guys like Hagelin (and Strålman). He could change the dynamic of any line that was struggling - and play in that role without looking stupid. Heck, he barely made Brad Richards look respectable. The best Swedish team of all time had guys like Påhlsson (and he was awesome btw). If they're the best at their thing, they need to be there. Watch the bozos pick someone like Jimmie Ericsson instead. A dented Swedish team couldn't handle Canada's speed last finals and Hagelin probably outskate any of their players. Dat backheck, dat defense and dat zone entry. That's worth a great deal for a bottom 6 player.

He can match up with Karlsson's speed on the oddman rush. Not many players can do that. That combo alone is intriguing. Nevermind him having a bunch of defensemen that can serve long range passes on the blade of the stick. Do I need to say more on my position of Hagelin? On my team, he would be a given.

But he has been productive since he joined pitts and has now 11p in 14 games in the playoff, so that show of some skill. Anaheim Hagelin no, pitts Hagelin yes. Do not think Pitts would have make to where they are now without Hagelin.

Hagelin is a lock for me, always has been. We don't have a single "speedy" player if we leave him and Rakell out.

Lol no point production in a limited time is not proof of anything. His playoff stint and late season performance doesn't really prove anything. His hands are still what they are him being in the right place at the right time doesn't change anything
