Klingberg will likely get the #7 spot.

I like Swedens team, looks a lot better than the 2014 olympic team, especially considering all the injuries they suffered through. No Z, No Sedin.. And then we add a dynamic player in Forsberg and in comes Strålman and Hedman as a one of the better pairings in the world.

Things look good.

what do the head and shoulder guy do there? Announcing a new shampoo?:)

Either way the only thing have hard to get over is that there is no Klingberg and still 6 d-men.

Grönborg tried his best to stumble on every word, and he succeeded!

Jacob Markstrom best swedish goalie in the world other than Lundqvist?

.917 sv% over 22 games I have a hard time seeing any other swedish goalie really being significantly better.

Definitely up there. Lehner will be there in september as well, he's been superb since he returned from injury. Enroth and Läck dark horses. Enroth had that amazing WC in 2013 (but Marky played very well in his starts as well).

Hampus Lindholm should be on the team. Better than every defenceman not named Karlsson, OEL or Hedman.

Markström has a case. As does Enroth. As does Lehner. As does Nilsson. I personally like Lehner the most, but I'm totally fine with it, our backup likely won't play a single minute.

Top8 forwards were really obvious. I don't really see any forward that would be close to make it over those selected.

Witt - Baryshnikov - Paganini
Harding (!) - Salchow - Chin Chan
Landeskog - - Kerrigan

Lutz - Taulopé
Petrenko - Hjalmarsson
Hedman - Bambi

Lumquest
Ghandi

Wannabees:

Karelin 135 kg
Zibanejad 101 kg
Söderberg 98
Berglund 98
Charles Manson (no weight possible to adm.)
Ericsson (Jimmie Ericsson)
Stig Salming

Nicklas Grossmann
Marty McSoreley
Mattias Ekholm
Hampus Lindholm
Alexander Edler
Tomas Johansson
Jonathan Ericsson

Robin Lehner
Brick Wall
Jonas "Monster" Gustavsson

I really hope Detroit misses the playoffs for there reasons:

1. Zetterberg and Kronwall could need some rest before WC.

2. Nyqvist can get a chance to play himself into the World Cup roster, by participating in the World Championships.

3. I would rather like to see a new playoff run from Karlsson and the Hamburglar for the last playoff spot.

Our seventh defenseman will be a good one. AND...we never before had 4 million dollar guys on our fourth line.

The reason why it was wrong to pick Kronwall over Klingberg in the first 6.

There will only be 7 blue liners on this roster. Sweden already have 2 top notch offensive blueliners and we can´t split Hedman - Strålman. So what to do? The obvious! The 7th spot should be for a reserve-/specialty player mostly needed if injuries or cold streaks occurs among the top 6. That could happen you know! I wonder if the Swedish management thought of this possibility since Sotji where our top 3 centers were missing for the gold medal game...
However, if Karlsson or OEL gets hurt or whatever, there will suddenly be a huge gap for Klingberg to fill!

Now you think: "What´s the big deal? They only announced 6 of them. He can have his 7th spot..."
Wrong.
Kronwall is there for his experience, not because there aren't like 5 currently better Swedish two-way defenders in the NHL right now.

Kronwall being picked = the 7th spot is taken.

Huge mistake!

Team Sweden is going to be pretty strong again at this tournament. This may be the Sedin's last tournament as they are getting up there in age.

any chance adam larsson makes it? improved a ton recently, still only 23.

not his time yet?

Not this time, if it was in a year or two I think for sure he would be there but right now he wont get in over Klingberg or Lindholm as #7

Kronwall instead of Lindholm, Klingberg, Brodin, Ekholm. Ugh.

He is making this team becuse of old merits.

Markström has one good season in NHL. Enroth has several. Enroth should have made it over Markström.

Kronwall being picked 6th=7th spot taken, am I missing something here..........

Hmm not really following you here...

He have grown on me over this season, and I start to like him. I think he would have added more than Kronwall with his size, but now there are already 6 d-men in the team, and I hope that that 7th d-men will be Klingberg. But he is a typical player that Grönborg would like, big strong and is a defensive d-men.

Why can we not split them? But I agree Klingberg should been on the team, he is better than Kronwall, Strålman and even Hjalmarsson.

He's not better defensively than Stralman or Hjalmarsson and you NEED these types of guys on NA ice.

Considering the team makeup and the inclusion of Karlsson/OEL for offense there no argument for Klingberg over Hjalmarsson who's one of the best shutdown guys in the league.
