Pair him with old buddy Axelsson and that line will be fine in the WC's.

Landeskog - Söderberg - Steen
Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson
Zetterberg - Bäckström - Forsberg
Axelsson - Lundqvist - Ericsson (MEAN, NASTY, haRDPIPED euro VETERANS!!)
Berglund or Zibanejad
It would be amazing!
I would have taken instead Zetterberg such great masters like Fredrik Pettersson:handclap::handclap:

Maybe not, but to quote former national coach BÃ…G, that just means that they are saving all the goals for this tournament.

Lehner is playing good.

3 goalies right now:

Lundqvist
Enroth
Lehner

Seems like age is attacking Lundqvist. Enroth or Lehner might steal the nr:1 spot.

Sveriges Radio just posted this on their website. As some of us suspected, Klingberg didn't make the intial 16.

*Enligt vad Radiosporten erfar.

The most surprising in that group would be that Markström is the #2 goalie. But selecting six defensemen would also be a surprise, and one of Klingberg and Lindholm wouldn't make the team. You can also name more than 16 players already if you want to.

ugh, kronwall

Basically Zetterberg, Sedins, Lundqvist and Kronwall(Olympic captain) would be there no matter what, been the backbone of the national team for a very long time. Whether Kronwall is just there as the seventh guy we'll see later on, but naming him right away is a courtesy move IMO.

Markström is the only surprise really. Pretty sure the goalies are set now with Enroth as the next addition, not that it matters much who's behind Lundqvist.

Kronwall, well it was expected. Just happy to see no Oduya's or Kruger's at this point.

What a slap in the face to Enroth. Other than that no surprises. I can live with Kronwall being in there. No huge mistake.

Lol Markström that was surprising. Kronwall probably there because of his experience, he probably isn't going to play that much.

I could buy that if Kronwall had been performing slightly below Klingberg but at this point it's not even close, experience difference or not. Kronwall before Klingberg right now is basically what Oduya before Hedman was in 2014. If they're awarding players for long and faithful service they should invite Joel Lundqvist and Jimmie Ericsson too.

A minute ago:
Reporter: "Have you seen the leaked roster presented by radiosporten?"
Grönborg: "No, I haven't seen it"

Yeah right

Kronwall, strålman, hjalmarsson over Klingberg, Grönborg did it again if that is correct. I can live with who ever is the 2th goalie, it do not matter really anyway. But Klingberg is our next best d-men this season, maybe the next best d-men in the world, and eaisly better than those 3. He was also the one steping up in the quarterfinal against russia in WHC, even if we lose that game, he was by far the best player on the ice, while OEL was horrible in that game.

"– Jag skulle tippa på att John Klingberg kommer med som en sjunde back. Det står nog mellan Johnny Oduya, Jonathan Ericsson och Klingberg, säger Jönsson."

How can even those 2 be mention is the same sentance as Klingberg? How can those be even close to making the team? How about Lindholm, Brodin, Larsson, Ekholm, Edler etc?

I also think it is a mistake to pretty much fill out the position we have toughest competition among. Fill out goalies and forwards, not d-men.

But I guess it could have been worse, Kruger could have been on the team, he maybe will be in the end.

Btw, if the d-pair is right as well, it would mean Kronwall is on the first d-pair?

OEL was horrible in the Olympics aswell... no?

Klingberg over OEL for me. OEL can join aswell.

We could just as easily say that Klingberg should be on the team over Hjalmarsson and Strålman. If you're building a brand new team you would take Klingberg over them 99 times out of 100. But now that Karlsson and OEL are already there, the complexity changes for someone like him.

It's not THAT controversial as some make it out to be, when you break down how the icetime will be distributed. Karlsson will take full two minute PP shifts a lot of the time. Klingberg's dilemma is that he won't kill penalties, won't take defensive zone draws and won't get to QB the PP a lot.

And yes, Klingberg would make my team.

Also comparing Kronwall with the likes of Joel Lundqvist and Jimmie Ericsson is downright laughable. Even comparing him with Oduya is big a stretch.

Yes, and considering OEL will take the remaining time on the PP, there wouldn't be much time left. With Hedman also on the roster they do have enough offensive firepower from the back end. I do think Klingberg will make the roster, but wouldn't mind much if he didn't. It's about roles, not who's best individually.
