World Cup: 2016 World Cup — Team Sweden

I would go with Markström as third goalie now, Enroth still #2 due to experience and good with Tre kronor. He has played well and taken the next step. He could easily have had more games played if not the management were trying to cover up their mistakes by playing Miller as the first.

The last spot I am not sure about, but I gave it to Edler because of experince and that he is having a good year.

That leaves rooms for 2-3 d-men and 4-5 forwards.

Okey, thank you for the information didn't know that! I'd lock Hank and Enroth in that case. Not a bad idea to lock a third goalie either, I agree with you that there probably won't pop up a supergoalie before the WC. I'd take Läck before Markström actually, just based on gutfeeling. But I'm not sure here, if one goalie hits a nice run in the end of this season. It would feel good to have the opportunity.

Agree that Nyquist shouldn't be a lock, but he was the one player I was sure would play in a consistent level and be as good (or "okey") next year. But if I pick another goalie, his the guy I would "unlock".

Also, for me Strålman is definitely a lock. Good partner with Hedman, plays a different role to many of our other D-mens. Really like him!

At first i thought scoring forwards would be the biggest questionmark, but after the WJC i definitely think its the coaching that will drag us down.

100% agree with this just switch Edler and Klingberg. Klingberg as a joker on the PP and as a gamebreaker
 
Does anyone in Sweden care about this event?

Sweden will be sending its best team, but to play against what? The u-24 kiddie team?

Personally I think this tournament is a joke.

Will probably watch anyway, but that's just because I'm a hockey nut.:D

Downfall is the wrong way to put it. Lundqvist is an exception, he is better than the rest of the pack and out of competition.

10 years ago there only was these Swedish goalies in NHL:
Lundqvist
Hedberg
Tellqvist


Now there are 11 Swedish goalies in the NHL, that tells a tale of something else than a crisis. Yes the king is still the king. But that can't be seen as worrying for Sweden, the guy is the best in the NHL. He is an exception.

Lundqvist will be the starting goalie because of his status. It will demand something extreme for that to change on such a short time frame.

Those interested in hockey is, the casual fans probably don't know that the tournament exists (yet, if Sweden get to the final rounds, there will be millions watching).

PS. Sweden - Finland NHL Goal Scoring Race : 400 - 133 Yup, if they score one, we score three, us being being twice as many players means that our 40 average skaters approximately outscores the 40 best finns by 50%.

Intresting that so many have the same top 6 (lines as well), even if you could easily put in players like Zetterberg, Landeskog into top 6 as well.

You have to have 3 goalies, it is a rule, otherwise I would agree on just having 2.

6 centers and no Söderberg? Mårts talking?;)

Kruger? when we have centers like this (they are good defensivly as well)

In case of injuries we need more players that can play more positions. Last time we got hit pretty bad and didnt have any good centers left.

No need for players like Krüger this time, Söderberg, Silfverberg, Steen, Zibanejad and if need be Bäckström and Forsberg kan play box play. They are mostly the nr 1 choice for BP in their NHL teams.

The D is hard, we have Ekholm thats left out and hes having a really good season.

Lindhom have the best defensive metrics in NHL so I would pair him with Karlsson. Hjalmarsson the other choice for that positon prefers to play on the right.

We are still weak att goalie for those that saying Lundqvist have a down season he still have better numbers then his average season. Not many goalies posting 92+ season with consistency
