Everyone is kinda osvessed with speed nowadays. But speed itself doesn't win games.
Yeah, but that is true for basically anything you can measure on a hockey rink.

Apparently, the third line will be Landeskog-Berglund-Söderberg.
Has Söderberg played wing a lot in Colorado!?
Or perhaps it's Berglund who is playing on the wing.
Kruger still not 100 %. Get a feeling he will decline.
Intresting that Daniel Alfredsson, Nicklas Lidstdröm and Mats Sundin wanted Berglund.
Lundqvist will start against Team Europe.

Sedin - Sedin - Loui
Nyquist - Bäckström - Forsberg
Landeskog - Söderberg - Berglund
Hagelin - Backlund - Hörnqvist
Silverberg (penalty kill)
The more i think about it, the more i want gustav nyquist on the team. Im starting to get pissed off he is not on the team. He is speedy, great skills and he is far from soft. That top 6 would be magic. And the bottom 6 is big and gritty, which is perfect for small rinks with NHL-rules (which this tournament have).
If Krüger declines too, I'm guessing we'll not see an offensive player take his spot...
I would LOVE to see Arvidsson get an invitation. He plays with no fear and possesses elite speed. We'll need that against U-23 and the other faster teams.
Too bad there's so many injuries... How many are there now, 6 guys leaving the team?

So not only did they choose an obviously unworthy player as a replacement they even put him in a scoring role. This is so ****ing off-putting. He's a worse player than the other alternatives, he doesn't fill a need and he hasn't shown any loyalty to the NT in the past, seriously **** this.
I keep hearing about all these injuries but the world cup injury thread hasn't been bumped in a while. Could I get an update since they started playing ?
Ohh what happened to Rakell that will suck for his contract. Who has been injured since they started playing tho Rakell and Lehner?Kronwall
Zetterberg
Steen
Rakell
Lehner
Are out.
Probably Krüger too it seems.

Not really injured, he caught a stomach virus of some sort that there seems to be uncertainty about. Rakell is the only replaced player to have played in a game. Krüger could be second.
Berglund is not half bad when he gets going, can be pretty impactful in international competition. It's all about what Berglund that shows up, even if it's a somewhat safe gamble.
I feel like they have to go with Nyquist now if Krüger is a no-go. Yes, the PP is set but we're painfully close to being one injury away from having a really weakened offense. The depth is about to run out in the skill department and it doesn't hurt to have a wildcard.
It was at least interesting to see Rakell in that one game, to see what level he hold at this stage. It was promising. In next similar tournament he will probably be a lock.
Any possible surprises if Kruger do not make it? It feels like it will be a center, so Klingberg and Nyquist is probably out the question.I get the feeling he is not a big fan of zibanejad. Maybe Wennberg?
how do you see lundqvist performance,
he is always a slow starter to seasons and he is not getting younger.
Must be some concerns?
Well he wasnt a living wall exactly against Finland. But whom would we put in net instead? Marky Markström? Too unproven still.
Sweden is doomed...
Nah. These are the remaining players we absolutely need to be able to win:
Lundqvist
Karlsson
Bäckström
Forsberg
Hedman
OEL
Sedins
Loui
The rest are complementary players that can be replaced, though Rakell was probably the most important of that bunch. Steen is the only injured player that would've been among the key group.
OEL could be replaced by Klingberg, and it wouldnt be any difference.
Zetterberg and Rakell hurts, Steen I am not a huge fan of. He wasnt even that good in the national shirt in the olympics, and then he was super hot in NHL. He is overrated it feels like.
If Hagelin goes, then we would be a very slow team compare to many others
