The Forsberg - Bäckström line isn't working at all. Play them with Rakell next game and if that doesn't work either it's time to split them up. If our two best forwards don't produce or even create dangerous situations we're done.

EDIT - Anti jinx, lol. Still, they've made only a few good plays in two games and it has happened to pay off. Hörnqvist needs to get off that line.

I don't think Forsberg made a single good play before the last few minutes. Hörnqvist played a much better game but I feel like Bäckström needs at least one celebral winger, too bad we don't have two Erikssons. Bäckström has played well in both games, not getting much help.

Loui is fantastic.

Hörnqvist had 4 points tonight. Just saying.

Mostly circumstantial though, as happens some games. His first point was a lucky bounce, his second point was mainly two good plays by Forsberg and Bäckström and his last point was an open net. I haven't seen that line take charge of the ice at all (see the Sedins + Loui line) and I think that combination won't do much against NA U23. It needs a speedy player like Rakell.

Doesn't EK look bulky as **** and slow? He must've put on a LOT of weight this summer.

His second goal was a quality finish and his first goal is exactly why we want Hörnqvist on this line. Throwing pucks towards the goal when there is traffic in front (Bäckis in this case) is a fool-proof way of scoring goals. I still believe in this line. When a player scores 2 goals and 2 assists in one game it is not a product of luck.

Maybe EK wants to change his game, he looks strong like a terminator, after the Norris robbery. Or maybe he wants to lean off by playing 30+ minutes all season.

Yeah, a good game from Karlsson even though he didn't produce offensively. What a time to be alive.

Noticed Hedman played the least minutes of any D-man for Sweden.

Anything to read there?

Maybe that he's taken out of the games too much when there's a penalty fest. I don't think he should be, he should consistently log 2nd or 3rd most minutes on this team.

6 things on my mind.

Why did Grönborg play the Sedin-line in PP at the end? We already know they are working fine. He should have use that time to get another line going.

Lundqvist must play against team Europe. He needs to get in shape.

We have been physical in this 2 games, i really like that. We never played like this under MÃ¥rts and BÃ¥g.

Hörnqvist had a good game.

Landeskog is such a beast in the physical game, he hits everything and all his hits are really hard.

I will watch alot of Canucks game this season. Sedin-Sedin-Loui will be tearing it up.

Or maybe he is just playing the way the coach wants him to play.

It is probably the system the team uses which is causing Karlsson to play more defensively.

Not in the games i have watched. He finish his checks and forechecks hard.

Lol at Johansson finishing his checks. He's got many qualities, but he's soft as butter. He can hit, but he doesn't do it naturally. He is a good passer and he skates fast. I think he'd be good for Sweden as a 13th forward, because he can play all 3 forward positions.

I found it. His current weight: 191 lbs. In 2014 it was 180 but I don't know what it was earlier this year

Players lose weight over the course of the season. They always come in a bit heavier at the start of training camp. The extra bulk will go away as his training schedule becomes less intense and as a result of the games played.

I've seen some good accelerations by Karlsson, he isn't going all out right now.

Did you miss the playoffs? He sure did finish his checks and played with great energy. I think he can play like that in World Cup, and he also got some nice speed and hands. I think he is way better than Silverberg.

Lindholm was probably caught trying to make the lineup more than anything else. And he made his international debut, too.

I did not miss the playoffs, in fact, I watched over 80 games of Johansson per season as a Caps fan. Yes, he has his moments where he finishes his checks and lays a hit or two but overall he's a soft finesse player.

What Sweden needs is to have more players with a shoot first mentality. I see a lot of playmakers on the team, but no real scoring threat outside of Forsberg.

I don't know a lot about Silfverberg, I don't know if he's better or worse than Johansson.

The Haula goal wasn't great for Lundqvist, the other two were meh. Don't think he could have done much on the Risto or Koivu goals. One he couldn't see until too late, and the other was just too quick of a pass across the slot to an open Koivu, who shouldn't have been there.
