Yeah well we are a bit injury sensitive at this point, we dont have that many really good centers. H Sedin and Bäckis just have to be healthy.

That's very true. But if you don't lose any more players, your TOP-6 is decent. Not comparable to Canada or Russia, but still elite players. As I said, your bottom-6 probably won't produce much offensively, unless Söderberg steps up with Landeskog in his line.

Guys like Landeskog, Rakell, Silfverberg, Backlund had 20+ goals this season. Not great goal scorers but still. Only 2 players on the Finnish team put up more goals for example.

Edit: Only Barkov scored more

I think we have good chances at the World Cup. Our D is comparable or better than Canadas and our forwards are on paper among top 5 of all the teams in my own opinion(Unfortunately Steen is injured though).

While our Centers aren't on the level of Canada, Russia etc, I still think our prospects and NHL centers are solid and we don't know if any of them may develop into Elite players.

Just to speculate a little. I think it's pretty obvious we haven't had any amazing drafts the last couple of years, but we have yet to see what our later round draftees have to show us like a certain Klingberg did.

I'm not planning to have any Finland vs. Sweden discussion here. I just said that compared to other Champion candidates, Sweden's bottom-6 is pretty thin. Alot depends on Söderberg's level of playing, because I don't really see Krüger making much impact offensively. Finland has the second worst offensive squad in this tournament, but fortunately our center depth is pretty good.

Zibanejad, Rask, Wennberg, Nylander. Not too shabby

We have a few great wingers for the future, but no top-10 projected centers aside from perhaps Nylander.

And he might not even play center in Toronto. I hope that Wennberg can have a great development the next two seasons and that Rakell will get some timeas center in Anaheim.

I love this stuff.

Swedish and Finnish fans arguing about "depth"

I never thought i'd see the day.

Yeah, my opinion is that Sweden has more depth in offense than Finland. With whom am I arguing? In other words, is someone saying that Finland has more depth? I think he would be wrong.

PS. I am kind of extraordinary Finnish ice hockey fan: If finland doesn't win this tournament, Sweden is my #2 favorite. That's why I am interested in the Swedish team.

To me it comes down to Barkov, you need a number one centre to put you over the top.

Is he that guy?

People talk like he is but he's got to prove it, everything else on Team Finland aside from Norris caliber defenseman is there.

They start against team under 23 in the first game, an easy touch?....i'm not so sure.

Finland Sweden is pretty 50/50.

So excited how the young guns perform.

At the end of the these games will be decided on such small marginals so they can go either way.

Chemistry is key for any team in this tournament, that will be the key.

This is an exceptional hockey tournament that all the teams have a shot to win the whole thing.

AS a FINN really excited about the next Olympics/WC, cause the future looks really bright for us :)

I am not saying National pride is not first and foremost here but in some ways I am looking at this as a developmental tournament.

Lots of questions to be answered here.

It should be interesting.

Player for player, individually, Sweden is clearly better than Finland.

Honestly, I'll cheer for Finland against every other team than Sweden. We are rivals when we play each other but I hope Finland wins the entire tournament if Sweden doesn't!

Forwards on our SECOND team scored 23 more goals than the finnish forwards... 32-26 Sweden on defense... 0-0 goalie wise

I don't know about that. All Finnish players may break out next year.

Here you are again, like a gnome in the forest. Next year is not relevant herein, however this tournament is, and on paper Finland is not on pair with Sweden.

that mentally is like straight from the soviet union :D

good thing your not the coach for such tournament, because how to build the best team and to find the best role for each player has nothing to do with that.

finland sweden game is 50/50, can go either way

looking at player by player has nothing to do how to build a winning team :)

Finland almost never is on par with Sweden, that's true.

However, the games aren't played on paper.
