That second PP is nonsense too.
Funny how Kovalchuk didn't fit in the team... Now he's scored 10 points in 6 games in KHL.
Hindsight is 20/20. Kovalchuk was struggling at the time of the selection, being a healthy scratch during the playoffs. His play returned to normal when Datsyuk arrived in St. Petersburg.
Kovalchuk-Datsyuk-Radulov would've been a wonderful line. This is what I would've done:
Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Kucherov
Kovalchuk-Datsyuk-Radulov
Kulemin-Malkin-Tarasenko
Panarin-Shipachyov-Dadonov
