I've got a feeling Telegin or Dadonov will get "injured" very soon.

But why the hell did they mention Kucherov in this story? Kucherov is one of the best players on this team, no way Kovy replaces him! NO WAY

I think Telegin will be "injured" or Namestnikov.

Removing Dadonov from Shipachev and Panarin would be like removing Larionov from Krutov and Makarov.

Bad comparison. KLM was Russia's top line and played even against Gretzky-Messier-Lemieux.
The Shipachyov line couldn't score goals when it mattered at the freaking World Championship! And this line will be dismanteld even before the tournament starts anyway ...

Lol, Finns just did everything possible to stop them, and where were NHL superstars Ovechkin and Kuznetsov? By your logic, they should leave the team before Dadonov...

Btw 3 ponts game for Dadonov today. And Kovy scored... yeah, zero.

I'm sorry to say it, but Kovalchuk was the leader who made Russian players leave. Ovechkin stayed, he wanted to show respect. Kovalchuk brought shame, Russia acknowledged it and he has never played since.

Nah, he played 4 games last season, being captain in all of them (Channel One Cup + one more game) and would for sure play the world champs if it hadn´t been for the problems at SKA in the end of that season.
Although from outside he may look like a player who lacks discipline for this and that he is actually a pretty loved player in Russia, three main factors are: He has always showed up for the national team, even during those years when players didn´t come to play (pre-Bykov era), his equalizer and overtime goal in 2008 and the New Jersey to KHL move. He's an emotional player, he's the one always getting the angriest, happiest etc. (like when he cried in 2008).
I think some of these factors that seem to be negative about him to neutral fans are on the contrary some factors that make him popular (not talking about the national anthem part, but in general I feel media always find a way to b*llsh*t him every year for something) :)

They ssem to be quite useless against better competition, just like on the NT.

Vs Finland?

Ovi ruined that one. The team would have been much better off without him. That was the only line that would have worked for them and they threw them in the backburner because "oh the great 8" who didn't accomplish anything useful. Is it a coincidence that as a result Russia played by far the worst game of their tournament against Finland?

It's not Shipachyov's fault the coach decides to play Ovechkin like 22 min with 2min shifts when Shipachyov's line had been proven to dominate throughout the tournament and Ovechkin only has his past merits(That are outside of the national team).

One day Russia will hopefully have a coach that lets the players who play well play big minutes and make the super star divas earn their roles.

lines from today training

Orlov-Zaitsev
Yemelin-Markov
Kulikov-Marchenko
Nesterov

Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Kucherov
Kulemin-Malkin-Tarasenko

The Canadian anthem incident was disrespect. However, I understand it was an accident and Kovalchuk did not mean to disrespect the Canadian anthem. O Canada means something to us. We have forgiven and shook hands as friends. It is in the past.

Kovlachuk has burnt bridges in North America. Disrespecting Canada was a mistake. Russia atoned and showed respect, I forgive Russia and believe the apology was sincere.

Our relationship as allies, but respected #1 rivals remains. Let's battle for the Cup.

The captain of the Russian national hockey Ilya Kovalchuk said the accusations against Russian players who left the ice during the execution of O Canada, according to TASS.

"As the captain of the Russian national team once again emphasize that any demarche, the story of which is inflated on the internet, it was not We shook hands with the Canadians, who won in the professional, wrestling, they expressed their respect." - Kovalchuk said.

Kovalchuk, on behalf of the national team once again congratulated all Canadians with a fair victory, noting that the Russians have set up a rematch, "Interfax".

Canada-Russia semifinal unless Russia wins Finland also. Ovechkin, Tarasenko, Malkin, Panarin might surprise in this tournament and carry Russia to the finals.
