Telegin really earned his spot on WHC. Could be again great 4th liner there. Pretty surprised to not see Radulov. What's the deal here? Good decision that Mozyakin was not selected.

It was basically Dadonov Vs. Radulov and Dadonov won it because of the chemistry here.

Telegin instead of Radulov, oh boy..

Radulov can't PK and we are very short of PK-ers.

Radulov declined an invitation to go to the World Championship many times

I'm pleased to see so many KHL players :) those final seven are a great selection, were playing great hockey in Moscow at the worlds, I like it. It also finally puts down the ridiculous opinion that no KHL-ers will be there.

by the same reasoning you may also leave Ovechkin out I guess.

Radulov is twice the player Dadonov is... imo there are reasons that go beyond 'chemistry' on the ice..

Well it's a wasted cup right there. Between lack of Radulov and Znarok still coaching, I'd be thrilled if Russia is top-4.

I'd unite WJC boys.

Code:
Ovechin - Malkin - Kucherov
Shipachev - Datsyuk - Dadonov
Panarin - Kuznetzov - Tarasenko
Namestnikov - Anisimov - Kulemin

Radulov is one of those players, who doesn't care about anything, but money. I think he isn't upset at all he won't play at World Cup. Kovy is a different story, but it's his own fault...

But I actually don't give a ****. This team will never win anything, it's not even going to win anything, so I only hope for a good statistics of my favorite players.

Oh, they have already selected the roster. I was just about to post what the NHL "experts" had filled in for the last spots of Russia:

https://www.nhl.com/news/world-cup-remaining-seven-roster-spots/c-279328418?tid=278386054

F: Ilya Kovalchuk (SKA St. Petersburg - KHL), Valeri Nichushkin (Dallas Stars), Alexander Radulov (CSKA Moscow - KHL)
D: Nikita Nesterov (Tampa Bay Lightning), Alexei Emelin (Montreal Canadiens), Alexey Marchenko (Detroit Red Wings), Anton Belov (SKA St. Petersburg - KHL)

The Russians went with only NHL players for their initial 16-player roster. It's a good step for a country that for the past two Olympics has split its roster almost evenly between NHL and KHL players only to lose in the quarterfinals each time.

However, Kovalchuk and Radulov are no-brainers to be on this team. Nichushkin, with his size (6-foot-3, 175 pounds) and skill, should also be there.

The defense is Russia's weakness. It won't get much stronger with the additions above, but the hope has to be that Nesterov, Emelin and Marchenko can at least keep pace. Belov, who played for the Oilers two seasons ago, would be the seventh defenseman.

Russia would have six lefties and one righty (Marchenko) by adding the above three defensemen to a group that already includes Andrei Markov, Dmitry Orlov and Dmitry Kulikov."

Well, something you would expect to hear from "experts" from NA only following NHL and mainstream news, these are the only KHL-players they know and never had a look at the world championships. Now I guess we will see these experts being "shocked" by the selections.

What a terrible team.

How many matches/shifts, before savior line with Malkin and Ovechkin will be formed?

Only reason worth watching is how PSD line will look on small ice and against top defense.

Radulov is better than 3F selected today, but you cannot after this Worlds not take Dadonov AND Schipachev + remember, they've played a whole year on the same line with Panarin (2014-2015)

And Telegin had a great WC.

The non selection is understandable. I'd rather to see Radulov instead of Namestnikov.

Come one guys..

Clearly Radulov isn't going because he decided to fix his micro injury's before going to NHL, instead of helping team at home WC..

Radulov has looked better than Malkin and Ovechkin every time i've seen them play in international tournament let alone some of the other names there. Weird decision.

How is Russia a terrible team? Do you know anything about hockey?

No Radulov, Mozyakin and Kovalchuk?

Who´s gonna bring their moral down now?

Seriously, if i were russian i´d be happy not to see them there.

yep, can't remeber when he played last times at the wc. and he behaved like a dick with his secret voyage to na this year. what a waste, but it's of his own doing.
wc is a rigged joke for canada and some european countries' consumption, nothing to shed tears over, though.

I agree. Telegin was only ok on the big ice because he has great speed. But how many times did Mozyakin and Datyuk set him up on empty nets that he missed or duffed. Shocked that Mozyakin gets snubbed again, in favour of Telegin none the less:facepalm: Mozyakin is MVP of the KHL and has proved himself at the last 2 WC's and even has nice chemistry with Datsyuk.

Continuation from my post above - Mozyakin is still miles better than Telegin, Dadonov, Namestnikov, Kulemin. I don't understand why he is constantly snubbed, his shot alone makes him worth while to have on the team. Dadonov IMO is minimal importance, that line is all Panarin Shipachev, some other guy could probably replace Dadonov and make the line more effective.
