I think Subban will get his chance with Pietrangelo falling off a bit from 2014. I agree that him and Stamkos add a much needed dimension to the PP; however, I still feel that Canada is deadly in terms offensive potential from the top-3 RHD, whereas the LHD are more defensive orientated group (outside of Keith).
 
Why are they doing "first 16" crap? Pick all of them at the same time. No reason to create a division in how you perceive the team or players on it.

They need to sell this event to American citizens to watch. And Canadians also since it's looking like no one cares. At least no one in Europe and the rest of the World cares/knows of this.

I remember at Olympic team announcements, there'd be 100's of pages of talks on these boards for Canada. It's pretty dead even for the announcement today, tells you what you need to know what people feel about this exhibition.

Vlasic and Carter surprised me. I'm not even sure I'd have them on the team yet alone in the Top 8 forwards/4 defensemen.
 
Not surprised, Carter and Vlasic play all over and are super versatile. Shows that you can't just look at production
 
I would have named Giroux and Hall over Carter. The top 4 dmen named was the general consensus, and some combo of Brodie/Gio/Burns/Subban/Pietro will be named as the final 3 guys.

I'm not really surprised by their inclusion.

Vlasic and Doughty were down-right dominant in Sochi. They played on-par with the super-pairing of Keith and Weber.

Carter clicked well with Toews in Sochi. He can defend and play the PK. Canada has always preferred forwards that can play a 200 ft game.
 
Lol @ Doughty mentioning TSN on Sportsnet and lol @ all the mock lineups that didn't have Vlasic and thought there'd be like 5-6 righties.

Congrats to Jeff Carter.
