Good grief, Hinostroza on team USA second line. I don't know what their goals are with the team they're bringing. 1st line is good though. Waiting for Finland - USA game at Tuesday, but on paper it should be easy task. Chance for Laine to bag some goals and have fun. Though as Finn I know, games aren't decided on paper and these guys will probably be like crazy, go maxium attack, to prove that they're solid hockey players. Finland is used to look very weak against say Canada, so I know this.

This can't be their forward lines.... can it? One of these years the US will flirt with relegation. This group looks like it can take a crack at it.

You think this team is worse than Hungary?

No, no I don't but sending a team comprised of kids/amateurs is pretty sad for Hockey USA. They can be fortunate to have Hungary partaking.

I did say flirt with - not marry.

I think it's more like stare awkwardly at distance. This team is going to win at least several of the games vs Belarus, France, Germany and Hungary.

That puts it in knockout round contention not relegation.

This team will be better than a bunch of average veteran NHLers. They are going to be hungry and interested in hockey. Not late night club runs.

They might lose one of those just due to the annual upset/lack of cohesiveness but here's the reality, if anyone on that roster were any of the above nationalities they would be a lock to make the roster, and likely playing heavy minutes.

Yeah and all they need is two wins to not flirt with relegation.

What's all this relegation nonsense. The U.S. will play a 1/4 final game. If they don't, I'll fly to Petersburg and run the length of Nevski Prospekt naked, from the Winter Palace to Moskovski Bokzal.

Team USA is always my second favourite team in this tournament, but I have to cheer for a relegation now just to see this.

I can´t believe how people can really think that this team will play Relegation. I mean they always send young players to the WC so what´s the difference now? They still got a lot of talent and some good NHL players.

we go through this every year, but this year seems to be one of the worst rosters compiled.

to be fair, I really never saw as many RFA's like what we had to deal with this year. So many of our top young guys are RFA's and that's what happens when you develop young NHLers. Many of these kids aren't going to risk an injury to play in this thing. Combine the World Cup in the fall and you see why the pool of talent shrunk considerably.

We all expect more than this every year, and until we start keeping score with those that decline us, and start producing elite level talent consistently on par to Canada, it is what it is.

I will be cheering for these young guys, as this will be the Matthews/Connor show.

These two kids will get every opportunity to shine here, and with Larkin and Foligno, we can spread out 2 lines that can score or has the talent to score.

It is a Motley Crue of US hockey players, and always becomes enjoyable to watch if they have the right coach.

You might have company, there are parades scheduled celebrating the end of WWII. Plenty would probably join you. I've heard Frank the Tank might attend the festivities.

You mean with 12 forwards? It's not late, they can easily add someone.

you have been seeing how many players don't want to play in this thing right?

I am not saying they won't get someone, but I am not holding my breath as it likely will not be an NHLer as that is what I meant to say.

don't really care for another AHLer or NCAA player..

Ya, well, it's time for one of those players who was asked and declined to reconsider. I'm looking at Jack. He's had 3 weeks off to rest up. He can manage to play 10 games and then still get in another 2 months off before really having to go hard in preparation for September.
