Not sure why some people think that Radulov will come. But he won`t unfortunately.
It also looks that we have some xenophobic individuals here around also.

Yakupov is still far more worth then Semin because he shows that he can even defend.
And Semin is kinda waste of place. Without good suport of old Mozyakin or Zaripov he is absolutely lost.

I didn't see much xenophobia at least in this thread. But it's true that all xenophobic posts should be deleted.

By the way, why wants Znarok Radulov at all ?

He will not change the Russian scoring impotence at all. But what he will surely do is creating penalty minutes for own team.
Only players who can score in given opportunities are Mozyakin and Timkin so far.

Radulov is not an offensive threat but Timkin is?

Lol

Just popping in to ask how you guys think in general the team is coming together this year?

Sounds like you're not getting Radulov? Injury I take it?

Edit: Looks like he is in, my bad.

I'm not from Russia myself, but I lived in Canada for quite a while. I hope that you'll get around to fulfilling your wish to enjoy a tournament in Russia :). I hope to visit Russia someday.

Thanks :)

I'm starting to get excited for this tournament, should be a good one. I know Russian fans will come out and support the tournament well.

At http://fhr.ru/en/main/ there is a 'Broadcast' button at 'Match schedule' part, don't know if it works for all countries though.

Players which should be cut off: Tikhonov, Semin.

Players which should Znarocks invite to try them : Khohlachev ( 68 points in AHL which is KHL equivalent, Grigorenko Mikhail and Goldobin.

I disagree strongly that the KHL and AHL are equivalent. The best veteran players in the AHL are still not quite on par with the "worst" NHL players, or they would get called up. A % of KHL players are skilled enough to play in the NHL but either choose to play in/near their home country or are not physically suited to the NHL game. The % is debatable but it's a substantial number.

There is definitely a good number of AHL veterans who are on par with worst NHL players, that's why a lot of them are there... potential call-ups. I agree with you that there is a good number of KHL players who have enough skill to play somewhere in the NHL (and lot of them are just not suited for it). But on the other side there is also a lot of fantastic, young, talented players in the AHL, who are developing and adjusting their game to the NHL. AHL is not just about grinders or veteran players who are waiting for call-ups. There is a lot of skill in the AHL.

I agree with much of what you say, that's why I said "veteran" AHL players. And many of the vets are talented too. I think all hockey outside of the NHL is underrated.

But if you picked a team of outstanding 27-33 year olds from the AHL they would probably still lose to any NHL team. I'd like to try simulating a KHL all-star team versus a random group of NHLers, I have a feeling the Russian all-stars would win. The Czechs appear to have put together a mostly Euro-pro team for this year's Worlds, so we'll see how they do vs the NA professionals.
