3 more outs and we will have another candidate for "worst loss of the year". It's unbelievable how they just act completely inept in games in which runs don't come in bunches.

Should've used Ortiz last inning....probably not going to use him to PH for any of the first three guys up (well, for JBJ possibly).

I have no problem with waiting to have him hit for Moncada this inning...but definitely should have been up in place of Leon last inning. Dumb decision by Farrell.

Run differential means something BUT with this particular team they are certainly showing that it means very little.

Run differential doesn't mean jack. It's actually a very reliable indicator to measure how good a team is. The teams in the top 8-10 are usually the ones that make the post-season. There obviously is a strong correlation.

This year: 1. Cubs 2. Sox 3. WSH 4. Cleveland 5. TOR 6. STL 7. LAD 8. Giants 9 . HOU 10. TEX
Wont find find many teams that are not getting in. Even the Astros still have a legit chance.

But it's not unlikely that the Sox will be killed in the playoffs (if they make it) by having a shaky defense, bad situational hitting and a brutal bullpen. Well, maybe Joe Kelly finally becomes a shutdown reliever (he worked on his fastball, throw more 4-seamers and less 2 seamers)

Better than running out the broken horse that is Tazawa.

Now that i agree with. I just question using kelly in a 2-1 game. It worked out so who knows, maybe they trot him out there again in a close game.

Run differential does matter but when you look at this particular team, not so much. They just appear to be missing "it" in close games.

Benintendi is progressing faster than expected. Could be back next home game. Which is great news because 1.We need his bat. 2. We need him in LF stat.

Holt makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
