The Red Sox starting pitching has been elite for months now; it's been fun to watch them out on the mound and dominant.

Bernie Madoff signed Tebow.

Since when has a MLB team ever given a **** about selling minor league tickets? It's not like Tebow is ever going to make it up to the big leagues. The guy hasn't played competitive baseball since high school...

I have a feeling Larry Lucchino down in Pawtucket now would disagree with you. It is still a business.

Either way I agree that I don't see how he brings any worth at all. Then again I didn't see him play.

Josh Beckett was interviewed on TR this morning, and had some interesting things to say about chicken and beer, and the 2012 season, some of which I didn't know.

Chicken and Beer:
Admitted taht the beers were absolutely a thing, a pretty constant thing, that the pitchers drank on their off days. "Rally beers" was the term. Said the chicken thing was completely unfounded though, which honestly I tend to believe, because why lie about chicken but admit to drinking?

2012:
- Bobby Valentine was an absentee manager. He sat in his office, rarely visited the clubhouse, and just expected guys to play hard. That worked real well Bobby.
- He was phantom DL'd with an injury (the golf photo thing) so they could call up Aaron Cook and to not lose him via opt out to the Yankees.

Lucchino has made a big mess in Pawtucket and there is no easy solution. The ill fated plan to move to Providence was doomed from Day 1 because of Curt Schilling costing the State of Rhode Island millions. Then the top investor from RI dropped dead and LL and Dr. C have been unable to get fans to forgive.

The Red Sox forced Mrs. Mondor to sell as they threatened to yank the Red Sox affiliation if she didn't. The team was a gold mine under Mondor as it had no debt but now because of the sale they are swimming in red ink.

Ten years ago they were averaging 9,000 a game, now it is 6,000 and still dropping.

Many think the team will wind up at a new stadium at Patriots Place. We shall see.

The Red Sox also own their farm team in Salem, Virginia and have first option to buy both Lowell and Portland should their owners sell. It is a business.

Ben Mondor was a great owner and what the Sox did to his widow was shameful. No sympathy for Lucchino & company they got exactly what they had coming to them.

Bad job or not the point was whether they care about ticket sales in a minor league team. Which I am pretty sure they do.

Not to defend Curt Schilling but I feel like people let RI state reps off the hook for that disaster. Nobody twisted their arm.

I think it's hilarious he even took time to reject the "chicken" rumor specifically. Like it offended his sensibilities.

"Beers? Yes, every day off, but chicken? Please".

Spring training distraction for when the Mets lose Cespedes to the Yankees in free agency.

He has the same agent as DeGrom and Syndergaard. He will play class A or rookie league I'm guessing only in Florida and never advance, but the Wilpons like cheap publicity.

Didn't it cost the governor his job?

I have no idea about what happened to state reps.

by state reps, that very well could be governor. i was just using state reps as a broad term. the governor and his cabinet of advisers if you will.
