I've been watching baseball for 30 years. Getting pissed off after being hit by a pitch and jawing with a pitcher isn't in the realm of being a dick or punk. Players act out all the time, especially so late in the year with standings on the line. We've all seen Ortiz smash a phone with his bat dangerously close to teammates.
If you seen a batter get pissed off after getting hit by a pitch that was unintentional and jawing at the pitcher afterwards, then I would venture to say that it would be you that hasn't watched much of baseball. This kind of **** happens all the time.
I don't know if you've just got a contrarian thing going or what. But, you're purposely generalizing and deflecting from the point I'm trying to make in some desperate attempt to appear right.
I never said players don't act out. I never said Ortiz didn't act out. As a matter of fact, I said he had. WHAT I DID SAY was that Machado talked **** to a pitcher and gave him the eye after he got hit by an accidental 86 mph pitch while the guy had a perfect game going. You keep talking about how "guys act out" as if that has anything to do with my argument.
As I also said, Ortiz got hit with a pitch (seemingly by accident) after Machado got hit. What did he do? Walked to first base. Like pretty much any guy would do in that situation. That pitch that hit Ortiz was 100000x more likely to be intentional than the one that hit Manny Machado.
If your entire argument is going to be based around arguing against points that I am not even making, don't bother responding. If you think what Machado did is "cool", okay that is your opinion, but don't be as foolish to turn this into a "Ortiz acts out all the time" argument. That is so far from any point I am trying to make. If you ever read my posts on this board pertaining to the Bruins, or any other team I am a fan of, you'll see I am far from the "fanboy" you seem to want to make me out to be by bringing up Ortiz hitting a telephone (again...has nothing to do with what we're talking about).
