There's NO WAY that PLD falls to the Jets and it's truly unfortunate that a meaningless win streak will prevent the opportunity at a great centre prospect like him and before anyone mentions Connor, I'll say that was a unique situation and a similar scenario will not repeat itself.

Anyone thinking otherwise is fooling themselves into trying to find a silver lining in this dark cloud cast on the franchise.

Winning one of the lotteries is a fairytale fantasy. Things like that don't happen to Jets fans.

Watch as the Oilers draft Chychrun and he turns out to be a true stud #1.

In case you may have forgot, thats two in a row for us getting unbelievably good prospects falling to us. PLD is indeed a long shot but he isn't a true/natural center anyway & who knows what might happen. Yes, Chychrun would be a long shot as well but who's to say where we have him ranked vs Serg & Juol (any one of the 3 may prove to be the real stud when all is said & done)

It's only good if the so called faller is someone you actually want. I refuse to stand by hoping for that. Until all is said and done I'll accept reality that the Jets get whoever is leftover.

I'm not enamoured with any of the top 3 defensemen so scoring whichever is leftover is no big consolation prize and while Nylander is good, he's not overly impressive either.

Man what a defeatest attitude. Basically saying that whoever falls to us if its not one of the big 5 (whoever those might be in your mind) its leftovers. I'm sure in a previous response you indicated that Chychrun wouldn't fall to us; now its like none of Chych, Serg or Juol are really going to amount to anything anyways.

Jets scouts have done wonders from oiutside the top 6 for years now, yet it would appear you have no faith in them. Lots of potential gems in the top 10 the way I see it; I'd rather be in the top 5 as well (and it could still happen), but if I've learned anything, I've learned to trust our scouuts on this one.

Wow you can predict the future. Amazing!!!!
Almost every person has PLD going between 5-7 so to say there is no way he falls to us at 6 is just stupid.

Mckeens loves Mcleod. No way to know how the picks will go before ours. We may get a guy there we didn't expect. In any event, we're going to get a very good prospect. Still have my fingers crossed for lottery help.

Sounds like Edmonton would really like to draft a D

...or they may trade their pick. I'm sure that would garner them a fine defenseman.

I must say: with Chiarelli running things there, and with statements made by management, it'll be interesting to see what happens in Edm this off-season.

Newer video of a guy who some around here have mentioned as a candidate for Chicagos pick.

He looks very tough to knock off the puck. Marko Dano type of game.

See I never got that. I feel like the difference between 4 and 6 is minuscule. We still have a chance at the lottery but even ending at 6th and grabbing Tkachuk, Juolevi or whoever is left would be fantastic. Even if we finished 3rd last, Laine and Matthews are still only a chance. There are no guarantees. We either win or we don't.

If we don't we're in a high quality tier of players, and we won't be outside of that.

Why negativity? The way they played last few games gave me a hope for the next season. Also:
1. Who says we won't win the lottery?
2. If we don't win the lottery, who says Chevy won't trade up in the draft list and pick a franchise player?
3. Even if Chevy doesn't trade up, who says the player(s) they pick won't be better that Matthews?

Life is good in Jets land peeps. Cheer up!

Acknowledging that a late season run means zero for next year isn't negativity, it is reality. Same goes for your three points.
1. The odds are less.
2. Gotta give a bunch to move up.
3. Unlikely

Pretty much this. The Jets have higher odds of falling then they have of winning the lottery or staying at #6 combined. That is not a statement of negativity, that's a fact, and when I think about it, it makes me feel sad.

Dubois at 7 would be a goddamn steal.

Here's the thing however. Would Dubois at 7 be a bigger steal than Ehlers or Connor were - I'd say not. And even if he is gone, we will have our choice of Chychrun, Tkachuk, Sergachov, Juol or Nylander still up there which will be just fine for a consolation prize

The top 3 will go before 6, obviously. Benning seems to be in for a defenseman, and Calgary needs talented wingers, so Tkachuk or Nylander could be an option for them instead of PLD.

He can certainly fall to 6th.

Yes, more of a steal than Ehlers. Connor is just amazing so he cant be better than that but Dubois shouldn't go lower than 4.

Not convinced Jets will be picking 6th or potentially higher. Probably end in 7th or even 8th. 9th would be crazy unfortunate even for Winnipeg fans.

Like I said previously, not hoping on anything but worse case scenario until the lotto balls make the pick # reality.

Hope you're right, but I truly doubt it and I fully expect to draft after #6.

As much as I'd love for another team to do otherwise, I see PLD as the 3rd best forward and think two defensemen going top 5.
