The Legend of Koro hasn't been putting up great numbers this year, anyone who's seen him play know if he's at least been improving?

I'm assuming you mean Korostelev. He's been out since December and just came back. Has put up 3 goals in 3 games since he's returned playing with Pavel Zacha on a dramatically improved Sting team (since the trade deadline). I would expect he will put up good numbers with the Sting for the rest of the year as the offence is very high powered ( beat Saginaw 11-4 today ).

That's actually considered a pretty strong season for Engvall, is it not? Especially considering his age, and size, and skating ability...what more does he need to do to shoot up the prospect ranks? I know Swe-1 is below the SEL but it still isn't a high scoring league.

What other players in the NHL have played seasons in the Swe-1 before coming over to North America? Filip Forsberg, who else?

How many years in Sweden do you think he will spend before coming to the AHL? One more?

I missed the first one but the second was a shot from the point on the pp, he was looking for someone to tip it but it went straight in. Not a great goal but a good screen was why it beat the goalie.

Peshaw ..lf he tried that in the NHL he'd get steamrolled...or something like that.

The Marlies would face the Sound Tigers if the playoffs started today.

I think they'll wait a bit and let him develop in the SHL. There won't be a lot of room over the next few years for prospects, so he'd be better off developing in the SHL, which I'd imagine he'll be playing in next season or 2 seasons from now

It depends on how he progresses (and I've never even seen him play before so this is low-level speculation) but I'd imagine two at minimum.

did they get rid of that 4 call up rule after the deadline that was in place before when Burke was here?

I think as the trades are made the Marlies can be brought up. It's what happens after that date that matters regarding the rule.

Is this new information? The Leafs are loaded with expiring contracts.. It's not really surprise we're going to pull from the Marlies

It will be quite interesting to see what they do with who.

"In order for a current NHL player to be eligible for the AHL playoffs, they have to be on the AHL roster at 3 pm Eastern. After that moment NHL teams get four non-emergency recalls for the remainder of the season."

So if they want a player in the AHL playoffs they can only use 4 callups after 3pm. They can call up as many as they want before 3pm BUT they won't be eligible for the AHL playoffs.

Who are the most important 4 for the playoffs?

Perhaps these "injuries" right now on the big club are providing enough wiggle room against the post trade deadline callup limitations? Plus if the team makes trades before the deadline, the call ups can happen then.

weirdly, a whole punch of posters here have convinced themselves that they're not going to bring up many marlies, because they care about the calder cup most of all, and that they'll try to bring back vets in trades to fill out the nhl roster.

Vets will come back by way of necessity to make deals work.

It's not one way or another. You can have SOME young players and take back some dumps.

Leipsic, Leivo and probably Harrington and/or Percy up are probably the AHL players up for the season with a mix of Nylander, Brown, Carrick, Soshnikov, Kapanen and Hyman getting some games if injuries keep hitting us (depending on need of course).

No arguments here.

Growing together, struggling together, and overcoming adversity together. This is the Detroit model. This is Babcock's model. This is now our model. Believe me when I say that a run to the Calder Cup matters to this management team. It teaches your young players to win together. It bonds them. A winning culture cannot be forged out of nothing.

I mean, they don't really have a choice. They will be selling a lot of players, so they have to fill some gaps.

i wonder if that means ufas moving out or after deadline they are going to bring up the kids to see what they have.

i suspect that the kids who will need to clear waivers will all get a good look. does anyone know who they are?
