2016 LA Kings Offseason GDT IV

If they aren't going to be a real threat, let's not expose the youth movement to nonchalant, floating type play.

He actually seemed like the perfect Ducks trash heap signing for their top line (Heatley/Penner/Stewart) and would of probably had the same results for LA as those three did in Anaheim.
 
Latta can play RW or C. Why sign him when you already have Andreoff who can play C and LW and has more upside?

Does that mean Nolan or Clifford are gone? Or Lombardi thinks Latta can play the 3rd or 4th line?

What youth?

There is no youth close to challenging for the top 6 winger hole we have.

The easiest thing to do--on this board at least--is question one's fandom when they say something that isn't positive. Then when it turns out to be true, it is swept under the rug, i.e. Mike Richards. This mindset has led many a strong poster to leave this board since 2012.

Regardless, theMajor made his point that he isn't a homer and I retract my "accusation" as I'm sure he realizes where I am coming from as well; however, lobbing insults at those with a non-complimentary opinion regarding the franchise is much more prevalent than some sort of homer-due-to-post-count accusation.

we're good, I understand your side of it and I cant say I disagree entirely. I just get fired up when people are negative which seems to be more and more common these days. sorry for taking it out on you :cheers:
maybe I should take a break from posting until the season starts again haha

Honestly, I don't care if the youth (all the Ontario guys and the other low-experience guys) isn't expected to challenge for a Top-6 role: I don't want bad role models for them in the form of a Vanek who isn't going to push this team over the top regardless.

Would rather go with the hole then sign him. Guy will never be part of a Cup winner.

Fair enough. But I think we just need him for 20-25 goals rather than being a leader.

They still have guys like Kopitar, Carter, Brown, Greene, Lewis to pattern their games and lives after.

It's not as if Vanek is Stoll, Richards or Voynov.
 
Dean must be waiting for the price on mid-tier FAs to bottom out even more. Wasn't he quoted in the last couple of days saying he was going to wait for the dust to settle?

In addition to stripping the C from Brown and passing the torch to Kopitar, I would have also let Davis Payne take the reigns to lead us in a new direction. DL discovered that you need to reinvent the magic...

I also would have signed Schenn for a 5/6 and traded Dwight King since I think he was serviceable in Sutter's system.

Instead we have Brown all pissed off at management, now we're not buying out Greene, and signed Travis Moen with a wig.

I know he has had a down season, but I would like to take a chance on Vrbata at the right price. Or, it would be great to sign Versteeg. He would be great with Kopitar and Gaborik.
