Went to the game last night. The Oilers owned the friggin corners. If it weren't for a bad turnover on their part the game should have been a shootout. The first period I thought was LA's best, they generated some really good scoring chances.

Muzzin continues to struggle. He is trying to contain players using his stick and not his feet. Forbort was impressive. He was really good about not taking penalties when he leans on people to take them off of the puck. A lot of other players hook or hold here but he didn't.

Nice new rink.

That's true about Forbort. He uses his reach well and keeps his stick down while keeping his feet moving. Last year at the start with limited minutes he jumped off the bench a line rusty and took a few key penalties, but that was very uncharacteristic for him.

Interesting lil tidbit... Told Kings GM Dean Lombardi is in Ontario taking in Reign v Stockton Heat (Calgary).

Also note, Mersch scratched.

Wonder if Mersch being scratched means anything?

He was injured.

There we go.

Stothers was a little cryptic in his post presser.

Biss didn’t play. Trotman didn’t play. Uhh, Privitera didn’t play. I think that covers it then. Flinner didn’t get in. Jack went the whole way. I think … [Reporter: Crescenzi] Cres is still out, yeah. … We’ve got a lot of guys that didn’t play. [Reporter: How’s Mersch doing? Can you provide any update on him and if this is an extended period of time thing?] Coach’s decision. His play’s got to improve. Just kidding. [Reporter: I know, we heard through team operations that he’s a bit banged up.] You didn’t hear anything. [Reporter: So, is it going to be a long-term banged up?] Well, Lindsay, if you show up every day you’ll know but if you’re going to go on an extended break here coming into 2017 you’ll have to find out from somebody else.

Also: At the end of the presser Stothers took a dig at Mersch for being late to something.

Jonny Brodzinski is the one who deserves a call-up anyway. He is the best player down in the AHL. Night in, night out, he is a threat to score, and make plays.

10 man games lost?

 yep. That site also did a comparison between this year's Washington and other historically 'lucky' teams and it's not even close, they're nutty healthy.

And for us, a lot of the man games lost are impact players...the only teams even remotely close to us that are playoff teams are mostly missing random scrubs.

If you look at some of the other visuals, it's damn impressive that we're alive at all.

exactly. which is why i think a deal between the 2 teams is completely out of the question. we don't have the assets to make this type of deal.

Yeah, Kings don't have much to trade for anyone. Ducks scare me. They have an abundance of young, cheap, good defense.
