At least with Latta it adds some competition for Shore and Dowd, that's always a good thing going into camp. Same goes for Trotman and Gilbert, hopefully they'll give Forbort/Gravel some motivation.

Over/under

Kopitar - 22 goals Over
Carter - 60 points Over
Toffoli - 30 goals Over
Gaborik - 20 goals Over
Purcell - 15 goals Under
Pearson - 45 points Over
Brown -13 goals Under
King - 25 points Under, but close
Lewis - 20 points Under
Doughty - 50 points Over
Muzzin - 10 goals Under
Martinez - 65 games Over
Scuderi - 10 games Over, but i'd prefer under
Trotman - 45 games Under, but i'd prefer over, less Greene/Scuderi/Gilbert, the better.
Gravel - 45 games Over (see above)

Ok, let me explain before people say I am too optimistic.

My thought for replacing the lost production of Lucic (20 goals) is Purcell regressing a bit from last year but still say 10 goals playing all over the Top 9 and on the PP, Gaborik getting back to 20+ from last years 12 and Pearson adding a handful to last years 15.

Pearson Kopitar Gaborik
Brown Carter Toffoli
King Shore Purcell
Clifford Dowd Lewis
Latta/AA

Doughty McNabb
Gilbert Muzz
Martinez Trotman
Forbort

They aren't going to risk losing Dowd/Forbort to waivers, at least not yet for Forbort. If someone takes Greene/Scuds that would be great.

Shore is the third best center on the team, and even though some of you don't like him because he doesn't score he will still be on the team for everything else he does (think Lewis but can win face-offs, which is why I don't understand why they re-signed lewis)

I think Dowd will eventually move up but he's going to have to start on the 4th line.

Gravel/Mersch are casualties of not having to pass through waivers.

I think Latta may surprise some people. Just a quick observation.

He's a very spirited player, puts a lot of passion into every shift. Defends his teammates to the end , good teammate, pretty good defensively. Good on faceoffs (around 51% I think last year)
If given the chance, that is regular shifts on the 4th line, I think he'd do fine and be a fan favorite.
I'd rather have him on my 4th line than Lars Eller on the 3rd. (reason he 's no longer in DC) I've never been an Eller fan, and his 24 pts or so won't give the Caps the grit, edge or 'extra element' you need to go deep in the playoffs. I've always thought he was 1 dimensional and a bit soft.

Pearson Kopitar Gaborik
Brown Carter Toffoli

This is what i think also and lineup looks like i made it.

Over/under

Kopitar - 22 goals Over: 24
Carter - 60 points Over: 63
Toffoli - 30 goals Under: 28
Gaborik - 20 goals Over: 25

Don't trust Toffoli's consistency yet.
Purcell won't shoot enough for 15 goals
Lewis will miss 4-5 gimme goals (oh if he only had hands)
King rebounds from injury season
I was being generous with Trotman. Don't think Sutter plays him more than the Vets and Rookies he already knows
Gravel will shine being called up late in the season after they finally give up on Gilbert/Forbort/Greene

Here is my prediction

I don't see it happening. Too many years of moving 1st round picks.

Hope he stays on that Detroit Redwings type mentality, draft and develop.

I think we have 13 forwards out of 16 that have real chance to make the team, either drafted or signed their first contract with Kings and 5 of off the 10 defenceman.

I don't see DL moving our 1st this year unless there's something ridiculously good AND long-term out there. AKA most likely not happening.

This is the season where he proves to us what he's learned.

So, Slovenian media is reporting Kopitar was in LA for almost a month this summer training with his teammates...

Tight. I know the guys have gotta be disappointed with that humiliating playoff exit, should give them plenty of motivation for the upcoming year.
