And if Pearson is still #70, the above roster report is WRONG......

He's suspended but still one of the 14 forwards on the roster.
Kucherov re-signed a 3-year deal at less than $5M, which will keep him as a RFA. Nobody saw that coming.
Getting both Toffoli and Pearson locked up at under $8M would be great for the team. Plus a few contracts will be coming off the books next summer, in addition to another contract that will be absorbed by the upcoming expansion draft.
Both a little over $4.5m total right now. If Toffoli gets another 30+, and Pearson has the kind of year they need out of him, it'll be tough.
That's why Dean needs to do a deal with Pearson NOW!!! Pearson's had consistency & injury problems that have prevented production. Dean could probably get a 3-4 year deal outta Pearson @ $1.9 million per year ......NOW ..... but if he waits too long, that figure would likely only increase.......

pearson is looking at a starting point of 3.5. he's not signing for clifford or lewis money.
Except Pearson and his agent know that as well.
And where is Pearson's 20-goal season? Pearson's put up Dwight King numbers, so should receive Dwight King $$$ .... for now!

Some of those examples you listed are UFA contracts, which is irrelevant to Pearson.
A lot depends on what Pearson does this year. Every goal he scores, we'll have to boo him. Just one of the great perils we have to deal with being fans of a league with a hard salary cap.
Yzerman is as good if not better than Lombardi and Soloman at getting guys under what they deserve.
So the lines for tomorrow appear to be...
Setoguchi-Kopitar-Brown
Purcell-Carter-Toffoli
King-Dowd-Lewis
Clifford-Andreoff/Shore-Nolan
Muzzin-Doughty
McNabb-Martinez
Forbort-Greene/Gilbert
Quick-Zatkoff
The 23rd player in the lineup will be Pearson, who will likely force one of Dowd, Shore or Andreoff to be scratched once his suspension is over.
