Jayson Tatum with a monster night. 28 points. 6 of 7 from 3. Josh Jackson's been shooting well recently. Hmm...

EDIT: His 3P% went from 31.7% to 37.3% in one night near the end of the season. One reason it's so hard to evaluate guys.

C's update:

IT ties Havlicek's consecutive 20 + pts/gm record (33), set at 40 in '71/72; 51st as a Celtic overall in a 116-108 win; @ Chicago tonight but not TNT

Calls like that are the reason why fans are turned off by NBA officiating. If there is 1 league who I would say has rigged refs...it's most definitely the NBA and always has been.

I usually don't complain about the refs anymore, because in most cases bad calls even out over time, but at the end of a game on a play that would hardly be called in the first quarter? They almost NEVER call a foul at the end of the games, even if they are blatantly obvious.
Plus they missed the foul call on Young when he got molested by 3 Bulls.

I wish they would make crucial foul-calls reviewable. How could he justify holding onto that call after seeing the replay? Just because Butler missed badly?

Well, still a great stretch for the guy. Well deserved ASB. Let's see if Danny can pull off a decent trade for a big, but I am not holding my breath, but that would be ok by me.

That's what he said he is looking for in todays interview. Of course he is aware, but he won't make a move for the sake of making it. And that's the right approach and I am glad Danny is patient and is allowed to be.

For example: Danny didn't think renting Ibaka for 25+ games was worth a 2018 1st and Terry Rozier. In a vacuum, you can justify such a trade, but Danny is just cautios...cannot throw assets away like in a candy shop. Maybe Rozier/Bradley or another guard is needed in a bigger move.

He didn't really say that though. He said he knows we're not good on the glass, but that the reason we have a good team is because we have skilled bigs that space the floor. Hard to get rebounding help that doesn't cost you in other areas, especially in a year where you're not all-in. As he said/implied, we're not putting bandaids on our fake problems that won't fix the real issue that we're just not as talented as Cleveland or Golden State.

This is why I hardly watch the NBA anymore. The ref that called the foul was looking at the ball.

I think everyone knows by now that Danny is not in love with traditional bigs and to some degree I agree with him, not sure it makes sense the way our roster is constructed. But if he could get someone on a favorable deal in his opinion, I think he would go for it. It does not even have to be a starter-level-player.
But it's also very possible that Danny rather goes after a bench-scorer.

And the sports you watch have perfect refs?

The loss sucks, but I'd rather deal with that call than offsides reviews.

No refs in any sport are flawless, but c'mon, the NBA is the worst and has been for a large amount of time. There are not many sports in which I can think of many series/games that have been so blatantly rigged.
Today is another example: Even if you make a point for that play being a foul, the ref didn't blow his whistle until it went wide. That is unacceptable.

I get that being an NBA-official is tough and the game is very fast, that's why I said earlier that certain calls don't bother me anymore, because you win some, you lose some, it usually averages out in theory, but how do you make such a brutal call at the end? Even if you thought it was a foul you swallow the whistle by going what the whole league is doing at the end of games. I've seen way worse harassments that haven't been called.

No, the sports I watch do not have perfect refs, but this is almost the equivalent of a referee on one side of the ice calling a penalty when he sees a player on the other side of the rink fall on the ice. This referee didn't even see the foul, yet he called the foul after the shot missed and the buzzer sounded.

Don't think he's available, Mavs are unlikely to sell. They are serious about making the playoffs one more time for Dirk. I'd definitely take him for a marginal price, though.
I also think Noel is always a candidate, but getting something done with Philly seems tough judging by what they did with Okafor in the last few days. Poor guys over there.

Oh, I think he'll get bought out if not traded here. He's not happy there and not a great fit - can't play with Dirk and isn't as good as Dwight Powell. And he can't stay healthy.

Maybe next year that Euro coming over might finally solve the issue.
