Reminder:

C's are out west for 4 starting in Sacramento tonight (10pm our time); it also appears that G Avery Bradley(Achilles) likely won't be returning until after the upcoming All Star break (2/17-19).

You guys should be pretty excited about Zizic. Kid is playing fantastic ball in Euroleague and he's just what the Cs need. A big strong center, light on his feet, athletic, good defensively, has a sweet stroke etc.

I'm not a basketball expert by any means. But I was wondering, if the Cs get to pick first in the draft which looks likely, will they trade it? The reason I ask is that, looking at the top draft prospects, it seems heavy in point guards. This is a position of strength on the Celtics with Thomas and Smart.

Would Danny be better off moving that pick for a veteran at one of the forward positions?

Yes, it's pretty amazing what he's able to do at his age against very good competition. It's also exciting that some experts say he would be a late lotto pick in 2017 if he were eligable.

Dude, it's over. It's been fun. But we got it. Until the lottery.

Yes, that's true, even though I am nt taking any chances and still want them to lose every game from here on out. That would probably raise the value of the 2018 pick, too.
Our worst enemy is the lotto...as always. 4 would still be a great pick, but I think there is a small cut off after Fultz and Ball. Barely 50/50 odds of getting either one of them.

He absolutely will if the right offer is on the table. Davis is a no brainer (he would offer #1 overall, 2018 BKN, our own 2018 1st and Brown+). I think it's not unlikely that he would trade #1 straight up for Butler/George, which I hope does not happen.

The PG-thing is a non issue IMO for tier 1 prospects. Ball would be a better fit with Isaiah IMO as he is a floor general type and Thomas can also play off the ball effectively. Unsure about Fultz, but that doesn't prevent me from rooting for us drafting him at #1 or #2.

My plan is still drafting #1-#4 in addition to signing Hayward/Griffin. People say pipe-dream, but the same was said about Horford (he was never going to leave ATL) and Durant (we came close). Why would Hayward leave a good situation in Utah behind? How are they going to get much better? We are already a #2 seed without him and will add multiple prospects (Fultz/Ball/JJ, Zizic, Yabusele) and have a second year Brown.
I get that Griffin loves LA and the west coast as he is interested in his acting career, that gives me pause. But he knows that the Clippers are trending down and he could raise his own stock by playing on a contender and historic franchise.

Except for Dennis Smith, the top PGs have SG size, so it shouldn't be an issue playing them with Thomas or Smart (who also has SG size). You can still match up defensively and there's nothing wrong with having multiple ball handlers on the floor or playing Thomas off ball. Both things that Stevens loves doing.

Injury update for Utah:

no Bradley (Achilles); Jae Crowder has a family member battling illness, as to why he missed Portland; will return to team for the game @ Dallas.
