I was warming up on Crosby, but his deadpan "no, he's a liar, that's not what i said to him" after reporters asked him about PKs comments set me straight ;). I do like Phil the thrill and Hags, but not enough to root for a division rival.

The next game should be a good one.

To be fair, they were never going to say what they said to each other. My friend works with the NHL doing video stuff for them, and he told me that Subban told Guentzel to get the **** off the ice, and then Subban and Crosby basically went back and forth saying **** you to each other

Exactly! Subban was obviously goofing around because they were clearly telling each other to **** off. Everyone knew it, lighten up Sid !

Now we've got ourselves a series!

This is so much more exciting/entertaining than when it was 2-0 Pens in the series...

Really enjoyed seeing the energy level and atmosphere in the Preds arena... That place was rockin'... Only thing I don't care for is the Preds goal song, but I can live with it...

I utterly reject the notion that Malkin and Kessel are mentally weak. I feel the same way when any fan says that any NHL player is mentally weak. They all play through injuries that would make the average fan go into a fetal position.

Again you're confusing mental fortitude with something different in this case physical toughness. You put too much stock in the fact they are talented professional athletes and ignore them being just as human as everyone else.

Regardless it's a pointless conversation to have especially with someone wearing rose colored glasses.

I hate the Penguins more than any other team in the league but Malkin and Kessel are not mentally weak. They always perform when it matters most. When the chips are on the table, when the pressure is there, they perform. That's the definition of mentally strong. Because they switch to another gear when it's most important.

chosen cheering for the Penguins isn't the reason he is saying Malkin and Kessel aren't mentally weak

If Nashville could steal the next game in Pittsburgh and then go back home with a chance to win the Cup in front of their hometown fans - that would be ridiculously exciting to watch...

It would also mean they'd win 4 in a row after going down 2-0. That would be awesome

Yeah they've both performed miraculously in this series

Or ya know, got frustrated and disappeared in games 3&4 because they assumed they'd be having another parade.

Oh the ole "put words in he other posters mouth to try and win the internet" tactic. Bold move cotton.

It's not unfair. Look at all the hot-takes being thrown around here because of the playoff sample size.

What it is, is a good illustration of how to maybe not put a ton of weight on 12 games when we have 82 before them.

If you haven't seen them showing their frustration with chippy plays idk what to tell ya.

You are basing your opinion of them being mentally weak on them not winning games 3 and 4 for their team in the SCF. As flimsy an argument as I've seen one this week. And I've been talking to bernmeister a lot so that's saying something

If both teams were healthy I'd still say Preds sweep.

That seems highly unlikely.

Pens have their problems, but they're still a damn good team. You don't make the final without going through a whole bunch of tough teams. Pittsburgh had to go through Cbus and the caps.... half of the top 4 teams from the regular season.

Yeah. The good guys will lose the series.
