This ****ing franchise gets everything.

They legitimately sucked for Malkin, so I don't care.

But then they draw a ****ing lottery ball when the greatest talent in 30 years is going first overall. Letang dies like he does every year and Justin Schultz who they got from the salvage yard becomes Paul Coffey. Sheary and Guentzel fall from the ****ing sky and become Modano and Hull. They never get over the hump because their goaltending is mediocre, and Ken Dryden just, you know, falls from the ****ing sky.

And then if all that isn't enough, they get literally every bounce, every call, and opposing goalies in two different series have historic collapses.

This sums up my thoughts right now. Sick to my stomach.

But wait...we have Staal and Girardi leading the charge!

They're going to win next year as well.

Pretty unlikely. Its hard to put that much mileage on your body 3 straight years in the league today with how balanced teams are. Someone is probably gonna beat you 3rd time around.

i guess i'm in the minority when i say i honestly don't mind that much seeing the pens win it. i used to hattttteeeee the pens when i first started watching, but my hatred for them has turned into mild dislike at worst. i can't really explain why.

i can definitely say that i'd much rather see the pens win the devils. living in nj, i'd never hear the end of it. i still have to hear about their 3 cups from 15 years ago.

At least the Devils were good

Crosby must have been lights out in the 1st round and games 2 and 3 of the SCF because he certainly wasn't the best/most valuable player in the majority of the other games, which i watched.
Congrats I guess...

Yes, I'm sure Penguins management knew that Guentzel would score 90 goals in the playoffs and Murray is a Hall of Famer because of their heart and grit and intangibles.

Murray is possibly on his way to a HOF career if he keeps this up. He's easily the best young goalie in the world right now.

What people fail to realize that beyond any stat can measure playing with elite players raises your compete and skill level. You produce more. Whether its tom brady or sidney crosby and malkin everyone around them look better. You put Guentzel on the preds and hes not scoring like he did playing on the pens. Sheary and Rust last year same thing. the constant...the two elite centers they have.

They'd rather give Crosby his 2nd before Malkin gets his 2nd

Game 3 vs ottawa...changed everything but then again sooner or later fluery would falter and murray would be in but they are lucky it happened sooner rather than later.

Pretty much how I feel. I hated them a lot when they had Orpik and co. I was rooting for them last year, but this year it just felt so undeserved with the way they played.

Oh well, elite quick-strike offense can bail out lackluster stretches of play.

Think the West next season is basically going to be Nashville and Edmonton

Don't see any other teams on that level, aside from maybe Anaheim

Agree though Guentzel was the best player in the AHL before his call up.. but it all starts with having elite players at the top and the rest falls into place.

Out of the 16, they deserved like three of them.

It's officially possible, folks. You can just officially PDO binge your way to a Stanley Cup.

Yup, for now, scoring more goals is more important than statistics.

You can't luck into 16 playoff wins.

To think Pittsburgh would win the next two cups after the Rangers beat them in 5 games in 2015.

Penguins turned a huge corner after that series. They pretty much re-invented their entire team around Crosby and Malkin.

All that bottom six trash like Adams, Vitale, Glass, Lapierre, etc. out and surrounded with very effective players.

Bylsma and Johnston were also horrendous coaches.

if you wanna talk about injuries Anaheim with rakell, eaves and gibson would have beat the preds in game 6 and 7.
They are much more balanced team then the preds.
