But we are?

Not this time. Expectations are high for you guys. Canada should be a win for you. Not easy but a win never the less.

Personally I am torn between cheering Puljujarvi to have big game and of course my Canadian pride. I think I will cheer for P'jarvi as I love watching him.

We don't feel that way, that's the important thing. Thankfully Jalonen has made sure the players don't either, if he is to believe in his recent interview for TSN.

Canada is never a sure win for any team no matter what.

Scoring in funny for this team

1. Puljujärvi 5+7=12
2. Aho 3+6=9
3. Laine 4+4=8
4. Juolevi 0+6=6
5. Saarela 3+1=4

All three 1998 born in top 5. I like it.

I think Jalonen royally messed up with his goalie coices in this tournament. The error he made was in putting Vehviläinen in net vs Russia.
When he made that choice, he took a path he is unable to change.
He'd decided that for the back-to-back games there would be different goalies, and Vehviläinen would start first - then Vehviläinen had an easy shutout, so he had to reward him and see if he could get hot.
He didn't. Then he proceeds with his earlier plan, hoping against hope Vehviläinen gets hot. He doesn't.
Now Jalonen faced the question, does he change goalie and put the cold goalie in net - or does he play Vehviläinen once more, not because hes deserved it, but because he's played so much that its a safer gamble. He's got to try and see if Vehviläinen will finally get into the zone.

If not, we are ****** and its all Jalonens poor decision makng.

A nod to everything said. It's never too late to change, but Jalonen doesn't have the cuts to do what is needed.

True enough. Though you have to be a touch excited by you scoring prowess though I am sure thats offset by your defensive woes and suspect tending.

At any rate I hope P'jarvi has a huge game. Though on second thought that will ensure he goes number 2 which will likely be out of the Canucks drafting range and probably within Edmontons.

I sure am, but on the flip side, the fact that it could all come to an end today makes me feel a bit more uneasy than normally. Been a while since I've been this nervous before a game.

nah russia is not at the same level. maybe you should watch the game? :)

hey guys... I have PVRed all of the games since i have been unable to watch them live so watching the Finland/Belarus game and was just wondering that kick off with the performers in the crowd and such before the opening game anyone know what that song is called that they were playing in Finland?

I havent heard the song, honestly have no clue at all what you're talking about.. but my best guess is, if there's a song played in hockey centre in Finland it gotta be one from the group called JVG.

I hate them.

This one?

Can I ask why Ville Husso is not on this year's team? I would think he would a much better goaltending option than anything the Finns have right now.

Edit: nvm didn't realize he was born in '95

1st time watching a full game by the Fins today. Can someone answer these 3 questions.

1. Who is better now between Pujujarvi and Laine

2. Whos game will translate better in the NHL

3. Which NHL player would you compare Puljujarvi and Laine to

Thanks

I'm working on my shift by shift video on Puljujarvi. Goodness that kid is so talented.

1. In my limited viewings, readings, etc. I take Puljujarvi but it's close.

2. I think both translate well for different reasons. I wouldn't say one is better than the other.

3. I don't like making player comparisons, especially with my limited viewings on them. I'll leave that to the more informed people.

3. Pulju-Selanne/Jagr, Laine-Ovechkin

1. Toss-up. I'd take Laine probably.

2. Toss-up. Maybe Pulju has an advantage with that speed. Laine is probably more NHL ready.

3. Laine reminds me a lot of Vanek. Just bigger, faster and more physical. Can't think of a stylistic comparison to Puljujärvi
