You need to be realistic here...Hill and Wells are not being invited to camp, neither are Shirley or Richard. Also if Virtanen is sent down he will be on the second line at worst. Finally, I'd be very surprised if they don't have Strome and Marner together at the very least to start the tournament.

Good question, I was going to ask you the same (you're typically up to speed on such things). Come to think of it, I'm going to the Ottawa vs. Kingston game on the 9th...hopefully Konecny, Crouse and Watson will be in action.

I'm good with what I see. I do hope we get a few NHLers and we should be good to go.

I do not get this HC rule of 2 goaltenders though. It just seems silly to not take 3.

Up front- no real surprises from Whl
Q- actually surprised by Dubois although he has been on a tear lately- no Perron? Or Kubel
OHl- Stephens does surprise me- not shocked they went with Dal Colle- time to put out

I don't think very often does HC stray from that 7 D 13 Forwards type of roster.

so, you can do the math from there.

4 D cuts. Only Ekblad from the NHL is elgible and he obviously isnt coming, so thats the core.

On forward there will be 4 cuts, assuming no forwards from the NHL are loaned. Its possible that Virtanen, McCann and Fabbri are all loaned, so that number could rise to 7. That being said, if Canada gets 2 guys from the NHL they will be lucky

but anyway, should be in contention for a medal and if the goaltending is spectacular, then a gold medal game should be reachable. And then it's a just a crapshoot.

Virtanen is about the only guy I see MAYBE getting let go up front. I think McCann and Fabbri has cemented spots on both clubs.

With McDavid, Drouin, Ekblad, Reinhart, Petan, Mantha, Pouliot? Nah.

There have been worse. This team will be also be worse.

Regardless yes they should still be in contention.
