They choked against the Czechs. Look what they did to the Swedes who had cakewalked to 4-0 in the prelims.

That's the thing with the Russians. Often don't know what you're gonna get and that's why playing them makes me nervous. I wouldn't be surprised to see them put up 5 goals on Canada and I wouldn't be surprised to see us control the play and win by a pretty dominant score like say, 4-1.

This is the better match up in terms of having a great game but I would've felt a lot more comfortable playing Sweden.

Well the stage is set for Canada. Better win at home. Hoping for a good close game whatever the outcome. I wouldn't bet either way.

I didn't see much of Sweden through the tournament but was happy for the Slovaks winning the Bronze. The way things went for them, I was pulling for them.

Rooting for Tolchinsky.

You guys must be loving this if you're watching :D

Don't get too cocky just yet....:D

Russians getting chippy and undisciplined. They need to regroup and stay calm if they hope to get back in this. Refs already warning the teams.

that was a dumb penalty but chippy? are you kidding me? The Canucks came out trying to intimidate and the Ruskies are making it clear they won't be. Russia is well "in it."

Don't get too upset, if we deny the Canadians their ability to believe in their only unsubstantiated "rah rah, lol" moment, they might become even more unbearable than they already are.

Wasn't being cocky. Not my style. Just said you guys must be enjoying the game since I know Hockey Canada gets a lot of hate on this board.

The Russians can never be underestimated and any Canadian should know what they can do. They've broken our hearts before. Not over until the clock runs down and they hand out the medals.

I didn't see Canada's first goal but the goalie (? spelling) was real good and was having a great tournament. Coach panics and pulls him. Lundquist wouldn't have stopped the second goal.

The only problem I have with the Canadians is, IMO, their huge sense of entitlement verging on classlessness. It's what I see in the players and have seen over the years. Listening to the commentators may slant my opinion on that even more however. It's not about talent, etc.. The attitudes I perceive makes it hard to pull for Canada. For me.

Perhaps I'm biased but I don't see it as entitlement. Yes, we like to call it "our game" because let's be honest, no other country has as many registered players and such a love for the game as Canada. It's part of our identity. Several countries have caught up to us in terms of skill and often times ice teams better than ours but this tournament isn't bigger or more important to anyone in the world than it is in Canada. We expect our teams to do very well given our history and the quality of young talent we develop. That's not the same as feeling entitled to win, it's just having high expectations. The players understand that and feel the pressure. It's quite an honor to wear the maple leaf and be a part of the winning tradition, I'd imagine. Gotta have some swaggers, anyways, especially on home ice.

I'm sure there are some dumb posters saying a lot of stupid **** but every country has those kind of people. We don't have a monopoly on idiots up here

Geez 5-1 to 5-4. Reminds me of another game I didn't watch but heard about. Same teams too. Be ironical if it happened again.

Congrats Canada, can't deny you guys had the best team this year. Wish Fleury had been a part of it but it is what it is, he'll have another shot at it next year. Enjoy it boys.
