I was impressed by Grundström. Could turn into a really good player!

I am looking forward to tomorrow's game between Canada and Finland.:yo:

jim benning is getting roasted by some on the canucks boards for scouting this tourney instead of being at the playoff games.

anyone have info about other GM's who are scouting this tourney too?

Slovakia is about to demonstrate why one upset against powerhouse team means very little, if they manage to lose head-to-head matchup with Germany. Slovaks are down a goal after 20 minutes.

Actually, it's quite possible that the Slovaks will make the play-offs even if they lose, because Sweden has only won the game against Germany as well, meaning it's going to be a three-way tie (if Sweden loses to Russia and Germany loses to the US). :)

Oops, that will teach me to actually look at the tournament table. Anyhow, if anyone has a link of Latvia - Switzerland game, please, share it. :)

Wow, the wild Swiss fans are raising the roofs. What was the point to organize the tournament in Switzerland? If none cares, it could stay in NA. :shakehead

Pretty obvious (albeit minor) goalie interference, no?
Yup, that was a rightfully disallowed goal. Romanovskis would've made the save if the Swiss player would've been outside the crease.

Overall not a very good showing in the 1st period. A couple of nice plays in the offensive zone, but that's about it. Too many penalties again.

I'd say we aren't that good as a unit in our end. We are either too tight together in our zone and opponents can skate around us in cycles or on contrary we leave huge gaps between forwards and defensemen which can be exploited easily. We got lucky that couple of shots weren't on target.

This is some of the worst refereeing I've seen. A Swiss player loses his stick, he goes on to take away the stick of a Latvian player, and the Latvian player gets sent off for 'interference'.

What makes it even funnier is that Latvians played without a goalie and with 6 players on a delayed powerplay, but got sent off after the whistle. I mean, WTF?

And looks like the refs won the game in the end as well. Congrats to Team Referees and good luck in the play-offs.
