Relax, by now Latvia has scored 4 against Canada. Not bad at all.
The meltdown in the 2nd period was unacceptable. You don't concede 6 goals in 6 minutes even against Canada. If it wasn't for that mental lapse, the game could've actually been a lot closer, so it's perfectly reasonable for Latvian fans to be upset about it.

I see your point, but at least we didn't lose this game already in dressing room before the game as our U20 team usually does against powerhouses. Small positives.

How silly (sad) is that Mitens were already selected to play for U20 team in December. Just embarrassing selection.
I couldn't agree more. It's so painfully obvious that the kid is not good enough for this level that I'm starting to get some conspirational vibes (rich parents, nepotism?). It's just shameful.

That was a fun game :handclap: I hope the boys have saved some goals for the next games.
There's definitely some positives to be gathered from the game. Negatives as well, but that kinda goes with the lack of skill regarding this level of hockey.

All in all, 6 goals against Canada is something i will gladly accept. :)

How did Rubins play?

All I can really say is that he wasn't our best or second best D-men today. As he didn't stand out offensively, it's hard to really praise anyone in a game where your team gives up 11 goals.

How did Rubins play?
Rubins was solid defensively, but didn't contribute much in the offensive zone today.

I think he actually had a neutral +/- and quite a lot of playing time. So i'd say he did fine.

not really, there's no skill to capitalize on their chances.

Russia will collapse against the US, just like Latvia did against Canada.

Actually, this game is a lot more lopsided than the Canada-Latvia game.

not really, there's no skill to capitalize on their chances. so much hype around them, i expect a bit more from usa

And not Russia who has seven shots after two periods? :) Great work on scoring two goals on two chances, but that's not good enough from a hockey superpower team.
