I honestly didn't think I would have to elaborate on this but I will.

I love the trade, and obviously it helps the future, but you also have other assets who aren't part of the future who you could move and pick up another promising future piece.

I would assume, that the 22 year old defensemen is building for the future. Not many kids at 22 are In the NHL let alone a top 3 d-man.

Garth Snow was a joke a couple of years ago. Not so much now.

Build and be patient.

Hence why I said Hamilton helps the future.

Hamilton makes others expendable so why not move a guy like Wideman for a pick and continue towards the future

Giving how random it's getting now, calgary could probably sit tight at 53 and still get a 1st round type talent that fell. Of course that doesn't mean Calgary would pick them either lol.
