57,000 channel views! Well done, sir!

Thank you! Though reading the analytics report, it appears the average view is only about 3-4 minutes. It's understandable, though; they're long and otherwise unexciting videos (I do that by design, as I don't want to overhype or try to show an agenda towards a particular prospect).

Unsurprisingly, McDavid and Hanifin lead the charge with a total of 25K views combined (McDavid 14K, Hanifin 11K). Eichel only has 1.5K, which is 1.3K less than Zacha, which is even newer. Brandon Carlo and Mathew Barzal are surprisingly often viewed prospects. Some of the more obscure and harder to find players, (Joel Eriksson Ek, Kyle Connor, Alexander Dergachev) are some of the least viewed.

Ah well, one day I'll figure out which ones people are most drawn to. I'm in the middle of uploading Ryan Pilon, then in a few days I'll start working on Anthony Beauvillier.

If you want to get into to the top 10 picks this year, it's going to be costly.

Too much high-end talent up there for it to cost anything reasonable, not that moving into the top 10 usually ever is.

I think the expression Trevor Lewis' sidekick already made it clear that I was being ironic...

Also, imo at the latest in 2016/17 Eichel can be a legit 1st line center in the NHL. I saw him live at the Worlds and he was impressive.

You just reminded me of another draft story. Craig Button was a long time scout for Minnesota/Dallas in the 90s. Dallas was picking #27 in 1998 and they thought they'd be able to get Gagne. Their table was slightly dismayed when Philly took him #22.

But they were also surprised to see Jiri Fischer still available, so the table begged GM Bob Gainey to trade up. Gainey told them that he thinks Fischer will be available at #27. Fischer then goes #25 to Detroit. Dallas ends up trading #27 to New Jersey (who draft Scott Gomez) for a pair of picks which turn out to be John Erskine and Tyler Bouck.

Then years later to make up for that mistake Bob Gainey pulls off a trade to acquire the man he could've gotten in Scott Gomez by trading Ryan McDonagh.

:)

I still think Jordan Greenway could be a Kings pick. 6'5 and 225 as an 18 year old? And he's a LW.

Jordan Greenway's as well.

Here are the other ones:

Pavel Zacha
Nick Merkley
Brandon Carlo
Dylan Strome
Colin White
Thomas Novak
Matej Tomek

I'm not 100% sure if we need more of the same.

Perhaps in the 2nd round, but definitely not with the 13th pick

I don't know man, a Blake Wheeler (if he hits his full potential)type of player is something the Kings could use. And if he busts and is Dwight King part deux, still a useful player.

It's still a bit of a reach with a 13th overall pick. With a pick that high, you really need to draft BPA

Drafting for needs with a 1st rounder is what netted us Forbort over Tarasenko, teubert over karlsson, and Hickey over Alzner

Out of those only Hickey was really a reach made out of need, Teubert and Forbort both went around where they were expected to.

If he is still there at 43, take him. Man, wouldn't it be something if we ended up with Zacha & Greenway. Kawabunga!

Oh, they went "around" where they were supposed to go, but organizational need was what was used in determining who they picked out of the guys "around" that number.

Hindsight is 20/20 of course, and Kings brass have produced some real gems with late round picks, but the first round drafting outside of Doughty & Pearson has been mighty suspect.

The 1st rounders need to be where the skill is taken, not the projects.

Dwight King is a stud when you consider he was a 4th round pick

Forbort and Taresenko where the highest rated players left on the board.

The Kings chose Forbort due to him being BPA, and skill. Not out of need.

This has been explained before, no idea why people keep acting like the Kings reached with Forbort. The guy is skilled, and is Manchester's best Defender. Forbort just turned 23.

Now the Teubert pick was baffling to me, the guy was never really skilled I thought, even watching him in JR's.

Dwight King is exactly what you want out of your later round picks. A cheap, younger, productive roster player. For all the flak Dwight King gets, he is productive at a fraction of the cost of top six players.

13 goals and 13 assists. I just don't get the complaints. He's a great utility player like Lewis. The reason he plays top minutes is because he's rewarded with them.
