So finished last two straight years but on opening night 2015-16 our team will be....

Coached by a Cup and Olympic winner...
Have on it.....
Evander Kane - stud
Jack Eichel - 2nd best prospect in ten years
Tyler Ennis - coming into his own
Zegmus - stud
Sam Reinhart - top forward in 14 draft, super smart
Risto - future stud
Zadorov - future stud
Begoosnia - 6'5" of mean nasty

Seriously, I wouldn't of believed you 6 months ago.....

Happy, happy, happy

We know this now, so no future Babcock hate when Reinhart and Z start in Rochester.

Or he's one of the few reporters that actually has a real insight into the organization...
He's certainly got his faults, (personal agendas against players being one of them) but people give Hamilton too much flak around here. I tend to think he's not just blowing smoke about this, but maybe I give him too much credit.

He has a lot of insight into the locker room. But he doesn't have an inside source.

Don't get me wrong I wont hate signing Babcock. I'll be very, very happy. I just hope he is the right guy for the job. And if he's truly an elite coach (lol) he can adjust and be a great youth coach as well.

I echo your sentiments - I just don't have a good feel about Babcock's success with youth because his rosters (Detroit and Team Canada) have always had a lot of veteran starpower to rely heavily on. Then again, maybe his time in Anaheim where the roster was made up of expansion claim vets and rookies will be a reference Murray points to when answering the question (and I think someone in the media will raise it, given Buffalo's youth coming out of a rebuild).

But maybe Murray respects Babcock enough to give him that which he wouldn't give Nolan.

Murray has worked with Babcock before and respects him. Gotta think he'll give Babcock MUCH more of a say than Teddy got.

I don't know that Murray disrespected Nolan as much as probably just didn't agree with or trust his judgment. We have to assume that Murray and Babcock both feel like they are on the same page and think the same way and want the same thing.

My guess is someone will leak it tonight with the official announcement coming tomorrow, whichever way it goes.

Time to trot out a dead horse and joke about the secretary near the fax machine..?

I'm pretty well known on the Wings board for being a huge Babcock fan. Some of you may not like how he does it, but he'll get the job done. He'll bring more credibility to the team as a known winner. Like every other good coach in the league, he has detractors. But if I were a Sabres fan the idea of getting Babcock would be very exciting.

but I am "OF THE BELIEF" that they're working on little details now... what he gets $$-wise and when, what the plan will be for ROC, staff, and certainly other contractual items

Well, Babcock has a good eye for coaches and if he thinks there's some guy that would be good for Rochester, Murray should definitely listen.

Right. To me that's the main reason to have kept Cassiddy last season and to have fired him when he fired Nolan. You want your NHL and AHL coaches to have some level of symbiotic relationship, whether it's someone the NHL hire has in mind or someone you think will fit his system well.

Really piss TBN off and don't even have a Presser for the hiring of Mike Babcock.
