#CBJ have released veterans James
Sheppard and Antti Pihlstrom from PTOs.
Same with Dante Salituro, who goes back
to OHL Ottawa.

At last.

It's interesting that you have a vested interest (and relief) in PTO's. That should have been pretty much the last interest of anyone.

Not a lot of surprises in the cuts. A couple of interesting names still left, but not a lot of surprises.

So Yevenko is a top-11 defenseman in the organization and the only 1st year pro in the camp? I know that you're all high on Paliotta, Heatherington and they are probably better, but the fact that he's still there is a pleasant surprise.

I'm really surprised Yevenko and Kukan have made it farther than Heatherington, Paliotta, and Madaisky

We likely want to see them a bit longer, maybe another pre-season game since they are more unknown at this point. Not necessarily an accomplishment. We likely have a strong feel on the other three.

Nobody will claim Madaisky because they'd have to put him on their NHL roster. Not happening.

I also think someone claims Madaisky

Wouldn't claiming him also mean he would not be sent down to that team's AHL club?

If that's the case, that'd be interesting for a guy who hasn't seen any NHL time.

Not sure why Yevenko is still here. Aside from hitting and fighting the guy looked like he was handling a hand grenade.

CBJ pay Boll 1.8 mil. a year for doing the same things. At least Yevenko is hitting opposite players, not the boards.

Weird, I was at the game Tuesday night, against ST Louis, and thought he looked pretty good. Someone took a run at foligno in this game, and Yevenko, beat the living crap out of the guy. He didnt hesitate a bit. Plus at 6'7 240, he has great reach, and moves pretty well.

You're reading far, far too much into this. He's really not very good. I suspect he's still there because he's a warm body and not a particularly valuable asset compared to the others who will be NHL players someday.

Seriously this. They might want to see more out of some of the players, while others they have a pretty good gauge of where they're at and what they need. And if none of them are forcing their way into the lineup like Jenner then it's better for them to get to Lake Erie and get acclimated with everything in Cleveland. The only one who I think really has a chance to force his way into the lineup is Rychel.

@Aportzline: #CBJ very impressed with towering D Oleg Yevenko (6-7), and may sign him to two-way deal. As of now he's under an AHL-only deal.
